You have to be a complete moron to gamble 450 on getting a Chinese knock off from Amazon.
These are LITTERALY being sold on Amazon by Eotech. Check the seller before making dumbass comments.
many times items are sold by a brand but fulfilled by someone else. in eotechs case https://a.co/d/9VIHnIX... you can see if you scroll down it’s sold by “opticsbuddy”
For the record, Opticsbuddy is an Authorized EOTECH Dealer. Enter their El Paso, TX zip code, "79912", into the Store finder on EOTECH'S own website and you'll find them listed in the search results: https://www.eotechinc.com/store-locator...
In the example amazon link you provided the product is "Sold by Opticsbuddy" and "Ships from Amazon". I'd be much more confident in receiving an authentic eotech product that was sold by and shipped from Opticsbuddy than I would a product "Sold by Opticsbuddy" and "Ships from Amazon". Amazon could/does/have shipped knockoffs that were fraudulently returned which the seller can't (or at least shouldn't) be blamed for. Read "Nosfed92gt" comment above for good relevant context.

That can be the case, one should always be cautious of about buying online from....anywhere, especially 3rd party sellers.
FWIW, eBay, Amazon, even Walmart have 3rd party sellers. Nice thing is, even if you get a fake product, you aren't going to some rando asking for your money back, but whomever's name is before the dotcom. That being said, places like Aliexpress and Temu, you will not be as protected. Best case SOP for all of the above, use a CC card and you can always dispute.
Amen, that was like the dumbest comment of the week. Apparently now Amazon is a shady online seller we can not trust. Perhaps we should wait until they gain a slightly larger user base before we can start safely ordering from the highest volume retailer on the....Earth ;)
And if you do get a knockoff (because you manually changed to a random seller other than Amazon or EOtech), just send it back for a full refund. Pretend problem solved.

Seller has more to worry about than anyone! Scammer could purchase this and file a return for any reason (they don’t have to prove it) but return a Chinese knockoff instead. This is easy if the item shipped from a local fulfillment center! Former AMAZON Seller.
