I got one of these for free from Amazon Vine about nine months ago, and it's been great, both on various pistols and piggybacking an MPVO on an AR, with ~500 rounds of 9mm and ~500 rounds of 5.56.

I ordered another from this deal, but unfortunately, it arrived partially defective. Only the Circle and Circle+Dot reticle selections worked, but the Dot-only was completely dark. This doesn't make a ton of sense since the Dot-only is the same emitter as the center of the Circle+Dot, so it must be an issue in the electronics and not the emitter itself. I've returned it for a replacement, so fingers crossed the replacement is fully functional.

As for the dot itself, it's very SRO-like, though a bit narrower due to the vertical sides instead of being completely circular. The window is a bit wider at the base than the SRO (where the SRO circle curves back in), but not as wide as the fully circular SRO at its widest point. I've had no functional issues with the first one I received over the ~1000 rounds of mixed use it's seen. It's plenty bright, and I usually run it 2 clicks down from brightest (mostly to prevent bursting from my mild astigmatism). If the second model had a dead Circle I might have just kept it since I run Dot-only. If there were a cheaper Dot-only model in the same footprint, I'd gladly buy that. If I have any issues with the replacement, I'll probably just return it and go for a Gideon Omega or Swampfox Justice II.

Update:

The replacement died after only ~200 rounds on a .22LR pistol (Retay RXP22) ... it didn't even die while at the range, but at home a few weeks later when dry-firing. It went into a low (but not lowest) brightness mode and wouldn't adjust up or down in brightness. It would still let you cycle through the three reticle options, but wouldn't auto-off anymore either.

CVLife, through the Amazon Messenger, send a refund for the purchase price but not for the tax. It was easy and I didn't have to return the faulty dot this time.

Looks like I'll be moving on to a Gideon Omega, Swampfox Justice II, or maybe an Osight X / C / Original since I've had good luck with the Osight S I have on my Tisas B9R DS9 Cary (2011).
