Examined a Core15 at one of my LGS and was impressed enough to go ahead and buy this model. The LGS wanted $100 more for what I assume to be the basic "Patrol Model".
It does have a rear sight. Will be interesting too see if everybody who ordered one will get a 1/7 twist though. The first core I bought from them was advertised as 1/7 and I received 1/9. A few other people on buds said they received 1/8 or 1/9. I'd be cool with a 1/8
I did with this one get the 1/7 but I did get it almost 2 years ago.
Wasn't a big deal too me. This time though I will hold buds or core15 up to the advertisement. This lot was labeled "dropship" up under the product code. Leads me to believe they are coming straight from core.
I ordered another one. This was the best deal on a quality AR that's been on this site in a while. There's been some decent deals but this was a great price for this rifle.
Thanks guys for the help, I decided to go ahead and get it. Do you guys think the Magpul MOE upgrade kit would work for this (it should, shouldn't it)?
core makes a magpul rifle. Could have bought that one. If you're going to spend the after money.
That Midwest Drop in is much better than a magpul hand guard. Way better.
That model is $200 more than this one. You could upgrade to Magpul parts on this model for well under that and still have the MI handguard to keep or sell.
It's already got the MBUS rear sight. My advice would be shoot it as is and then decide what you want. After you're proficient it the "iron" sights, spend some money on an optic.
What makes you think it has a rear sight? It may be in the picture, and the entry at Bud's doesn't say it's included... but it does say:
"*Please Note!! Many of our pictures are stock photos provided to us by the manufacturer and do not necessarily represent the actual item being purchased. Please verify this picture accurately reflects the product described by the title and description on this page before you place your order."
And if you go to Core15's site it says that the rear sight is "optional". I'm seriously considering this rifle but not if I have to drop $50+ on a good rear sight. Kinda wrecks part of the value equation.
both CTD and Grabagun list this model with MBUS rear sight, I'm pretty sure that is correct
How is 6 lbs 7 ounces 'ultralight' ? You don't get that badge until you get down to 5 lbs 15 ounces....
And add approx 1 lbs ( 16 oz) to any weight for the 30 rnder with full ammo. Oh, add on some optics/ lasers/ lights...
Hey guys, I am currently looking into buying my first AR-15. I originally planned on getting either a Sig or Colt just for simplicity reasons and they are both respectable names. However I saw this pop up and it appears to be a crazy good deal. This rifle typically sells for $1,200 and up. So, do you guys think this would be a good rifle to buy and one that will last for years? Thanks.
Picked up today and got 1/9 twist. lol
Will be contacting both Buds & Core first thing Monday.
