For those interested, I spoke with Anderson today...this is a 8620 Carrier and a 9310 Bolt......9310 is the newest material being used, and most prefer it over 158 Carpenter.....

Good Bolt, 5 left as of now

So, what you're saying is after all the info you gave below, that this is a pretty decent bolt? I would say *IF* they are HPT and MPI tested that they would be comparable to any major brand of AR BCG. Although at that price... I'm not holding my breath.

Any specs, certification, or reviews on these?

If you want a good BCG, buy the LMT full Auto from Weapon Outfitters for $199. It will last forever, and is the industry standard. Otherwise find a BCM on Gunbroker.

This is the heart of an AR-15, don't buy cheap here.

Anderson Manufacturing makes high quality stuff. These will work just as well or better than the ones you see for $200.

actually thats incorrect, and misleading. Will it "work" yes...is it the same? No will it last as long ? No Is it as safe ? No

The differences are in the bolts. this could be a 8620, 4140, 9310, 158 steel......and all those have a different brittle, mar, tensile strenghth and wear ratings. They also all hold different chamber pressures etc.

i have seen 8620 bots shatter a weapon...it's actually pretty common to lose a lug, as the bolt is a wear part. A 8620 may last 10-14k rounds where a 9310 or 158 will ast 30-40k rounds.

Then their is the matter of chrome lined keys, or chrome lined carriers.

then there is the extractor material.

How much bearing surface is there.

Does it have a standard or D- ring extractor

Firing pin material.

Cam bolt material

Is it Full auto or Semi Auto

Is the firing pin shrouded.

then there is the proper staking of the key,

and lastly the material used as the finish. A $200 NIBX , Chrome, etc can greatly reduce wear, and limit the need for lubrication

BIG DIFfERENCES IN BOLTS.....

Thanks for the info. I have one of these bolts by this manufacturer. It has fired about 5000 rounds through my RRA. The entire BCG does not have much wear right now, but I keep my rifles very clean and keep the BGC pretty "wet". I have never used a NIBX BCG, I will pick one up give it a whirl. I would rather pay a little extra for something that can run 40K rounds than use something like this for another 10K.
