I was excited to buy this pistol and support an American firearms company but it turned out to be so -so. Still may be worth owning as a conversation collectors gun.
Pros: Low bore axis, quick sight works, high capacity, good handgun ergonomics, feels good in hand and about the same size as a Glock 19.
Cons: This is the deal killer for me - the double action trigger is disconcerting, especially since I am a Glock shooter. The Caracal trigger needs to cock the striker firing pin each time the trigger is pulled. This action results in a pull that is long and mushy, with a hard wall. Trigger reset is slow as I had to make sure my trigger finger pad disengages with the trigger after each pull else the trigger would not reset to fire the next round. The Caracal in NOT “ Glock-like.” Try a mag dump, and you will fail, slower follow-up shots than Glocks “safe action butterfly” triggers or Walther’s excellent Anti-Stress triggers on their P99. Look at all the posted videos of the Caracal. This double action pistol is slow in follow-up shots. The long trigger does make the Caracal safer than a Glock with a round in the chamber. Less likely to get a Glock leg from accidental discharge when re-holstering.
My suggestion, this Caracal pistol could be greatly improved if it adapted the Walther P99 AS trigger as used in the Turkish P99 clones.

Fantastic review on these guns and the history of their disappearing and return.
