This pistol was plagued with problems when it launched. Does anyone know if Canik addressed and corrected these issues with the pistol?
The only "problem" I am aware of that some users reported (myself included) the SFX series could be unreliable cycling with 115 grain ammo as the gun was designed around 124 grain NATO in mind. Especially if you added a red dot as that increased the overall weight of the slide. Canik / Century Arms will send you a weaker spring assembly free of charge if you report to them you are having cycling problems with 124 grain ammo.*
Not sure if this impacts current models but my TP9SFX (4-ish years old) had this issue with 115 grain bulk ammo, new (free) spring solved it. I think some people report cutting off a little of the factory spring also loosened it up enough however I never tried that as I'm not a big fan of bubba type 'repairs.'
*even if you are trying to cycle 115 grain....tell them it is 124 grain which is giving you trouble ;)
I love my Caniks, but PSA is grossly marking up the price on this.
Everyone is. I found one in stock last night for $1500+,….This morning; SOLD.
But why wouldn’t retailers, when people are running like pigs to the slop trough for them, sight unseen.
Strangely enough the folks paying nearly double for these are typically the same folks complaining about the price of eggs or gas right now.
Everyone just wait. YT artificially inflated this gun’s price. The plastic rivals swole to nearly a G when they first dropped and bout 6-8 mths later they could be had for sub $600.
Besides everyone rushing to get these likely already owns the rival or a standard mete/sfx and the “steel” at $1300 isn’t gonna make any of us a better shooter (me included).
Topshot Dustin did a half decent comparison (and so have a few others) to the two version (poly vs steel). Peep those before sell your CZ’s or poly Rivals
$949.99 MSRP. Pretty gross of PSA of marking up the price and then having the stones to list this as a daily deal. Guess I’m done with PSA.
