Build Your Next Piece of AR-15 History
Brownells expanded its lineup of retro AR-15 components with the new Brownells C7 Stripped Upper Receiver.
This unique receiver design features the correct carry-handle contours for Canadian C7 clones or the Colt Model 723 used by the military during the "Black Hawk Down" time frame.
Each Brownells C7 Stripped Upper Receiver is built with a similar profile as the company's M16A1 upper receivers, including an original A1 profile that incorporates a shell deflector, A1 rear-sight housing and the aforementioned carry-handle design.
- Completely stripped
- All-black finish
- Does not have M4 feedramps
- Works with all standard AR-15 components
Made from 7075-T6 forged aluminum, each Brownells C7 Stripped Upper Receiver is machined to military specifications and then treated with a matte-black, hard-anodized finish.

The price is definitely right. I'm not a clone guy, so I won't be buying it. I want the reliability of M4 feed ramps, and I'd be willing to pay a bit more for the rear sight already installed.
But that's just me. This is a great deal for a lot of history focused guys. I really dig it.
This is one example where nostalgia sucks. The modern AR-15 carbine of today with the capability to mount optics and accessories is vastly superior to the totally unreliable piece of crap M-16 I carried in Vietnam. The A-1 and A-2 models addressed many of the reliability issues, but the removal of the carry-handle, and replacing it with a picatinny rail was a game changer that should have happened decades sooner. Been there, done that, and I have no desire to do it ever again.
Purchased this and received it in about a week. Had none of the firmest issues others have complained about. Also no damage or markings. Was however shipped in a bubble mailer, how about a box
