Brigade Manufacturing is proud to introduce the Makasi. A new platform that continues the legacy that is, the “Right Arm of the Free World”. Crafted now for the first time with American ingenuity, the Makasi marries the functional aesthetic of the FAL with the familiar handling of AR-style controls. Chambered in 5.56x45, it features a short-stroke gas piston, a buffer less recoil system, and operates with a non-reciprocating side-charging handle.

The billet upper and lower receivers highlight the look of an FAL, but the function of an AR-15. The lower receiver resembles a FAL lower and even features a FAL-style rear take-down lever! This has a rear picatinny rail milled into the lower that allows for the interchangeability of different butt stocks, but the rifle comes standard with an attached side folding stock that is reminiscent of the FAL Para and folds to the left side. The billet lower features a QD attachedment point on the right side of the receiver. The mag well, while taking standard 5.56 STANAG AR-15 magazines, is styled with a vertical lip on the left side, and a diagonal cut lip on the right side, very much like what you would see on an FAL. The lower accepts AR-15 triggers, selectors, pistol grips, and uses a standard AR-15 button magazine release. The stock furniture on the firearm is Strike Industries.

The upper receiver has an integrated left-side non-reciprocating charging handle that features the rounded FAL-style knob. Utilizing an internally captive recoil system, the bolt and recoil mechanism are all housed in the upper receiver. As touched on above, the Makasi uses a short-stroke, piston-driven rifle, with 2 gas selection options, Suppressed or Unsuppressed. The 16” 5.56 nitride barrels are 4150 with a 1:7 barrel twist. A 12” FDE cerakoted free float M-LOK rail system with 1 QD sling attachment points on either side compliments the firearm, giving you function, but also feeds into the classic FAL aesthetic.

In the box, you will find front and rear backup iron sights, as well as coming with both 1-20rd & 1-30rd 5.56 AR-15 magazines (2 magazines total). SKU: M561162N
