That is a really solid point, many agencies specifically order neon colored firearms (or furniture) for their "less than lethals" and someone may confuse this as one or think this wasn't a real gun when it actually was.

FWIW, I don't think it is ridiculous at all. Right now the entire firearms community is freaking because a Sig "might" have a one-in-a-million chance of firing without a trigger pull so I think a kid confusing a toy colored gun for a toy gun is actually far more likely.

As a state department of public safety standards and training firearms certification course instructor I take pause with thee bright colored guns and magazines. My concern is heaven forbid they end up in the vicinity of a child, they may be mistaken as a "toy" and could end up in a tragedy. Put this on a table along side a standard black firearm and see which gets picked up first... Also the fact that if a lunatic ends up on the street and the police have to make contact with the perp, the situation could be delayed by second guessing and again could end up in tragedy. I look at these the same way I do when drugs or other substances are made to mimick candy or design to attract young people. I know this may seem ridiculous to some of you but one single incident is all it takes to understand the problem.
