The 6.5 Grendel is an excellent middle ground between the 5.56x45 and the 7.62x51. Its biggest problem is that it can be a little hard to find – until now. Sellier & Bellot of the Czech Republic offers the perfect solution for target practice with this 600-round case of ammo!
This round’s bullet is nothing fancy – a 124 grain full metal jacket, which has a lead core and copper alloy jacket that are both incapable of attracting a magnet. The sleek projectile’s balanced weight and slightly tapered base grant it a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.400. By our measure, the projectile should remain supersonic until it screeches past 880 yards.
They don’t load ammo in the Czech Republic like they do over in Russia. That means this ammo features solid brass cases, as well as the non-corrosive Boxer primers they need in order to be reloaded. Sellier & Bellot recorded this round’s 2,576 fps muzzle velocity with a 23.5” barrel.
