The Vortex Defender-CCW is a tiny, rugged pistol (or Pic Rail) red dot optimized for concealed carry and personal protection. The Defender-CCW boasts an unprecedented battery life thanks to the new motion-activated auto shutoff function, which powers the unit down after 14 hours of motionlessness. When motion is detected, the optic powers on again, meaning it's always ready for action.

The Defender-CCW is an entirely new design from Vortex, featuring a much larger window compared to the Viper and Venom MRDS optics, and is also much tougher than them. The durability of the optic is further enhanced by a ShockShield polymer insert for shock resistance. This 6 MOA red dot features a large aspherical lens for a distortion and parallax-free sight picture. An aggressive Fast-Rack textured front face allows the user to perform emergency one-handed weapon manipulation.

The Vortex Defender-CCW utilizes the Shield RMS/RMSc footprint and includes a Picatinny mount. This optic features unlimited eye relief, a 6 MOA red dot reticle, and a top-mounted battery which allows it to be changed without the need to re-zero the optic. The light yet rugged construction, large viewing window, and battery-saving motion activation make this the perfect optic for a wide variety of concealed carry handguns (will also mount onto rifles, PCCs or anything else that accepts the included standard Picatinny rail mount)
