Description
This .308 Winchester ammo is affordable enough for both deer hunting and target shooting and features a soft point bullet that can bring down an animal quickly with high diameter mushrooming. Unlike a hollow point, however, a soft point projectile will not fragment in the target and damage valuable meat or trophies.
Each cartridge in this case of 500 fires a 140 grain soft point bullet at a muzzle velocity of 2,765 feet per second and produces typical .308 Winchester/7.62 NATO ballistics. This ammo can be used in both bolt-action rifles like the Remington 700 and semi-automatics such as the M-14 or AR-10.
Silver Bear ammunition is made by the Barnaul Machine Plant and gets its name from the zinc plated steel cases that give it a silverish appearance. The Barnaul plant produced half of the ammunition used by Soviet forces during World War II. Today, it is a private business that produces several different lines of ammo as well as metal target devices. Barnaul ammo uses non-corrosive Berdan primers and is not reloadable.
