HondaFox, the difference is the steel armor we use. A lot of people are just using regular AR500 for body armor, we do not recommend this. Our armor is pretested ballistic steel, the same material that is sold to the US military.

Is there somewhere that i can read about the difference between your armor and regular ar500? I was not aware that yours was any different than any other and I am ready to buy my carrier & plates. I have decided on steel vs sapi or esapi. I wore sapi plates in Iraq and was never very comfortable with the fact that while it may stop the first round, the second would likely slip through.
I would like to know if there is a significant difference in your plates vs regular ar500 and if your anti spall coating is similar.

The main difference would be in the thickness, our armor is typically just over .250" which helps to ensure of its ballistic capabilities. The manufacturer sells this same type of steel to our military for its own armor applications. You can check out this video from one of our customers to see the toughness of our steel and spall coating http://www.scorpiustactical.com/collections/ar500...

Where is the deal here? You can get a MOPC w/ 10x12 curved/coated front and back plus curved/coated 6x6 sides for $285 shipped from CATI, it comes out to $349 shipped from Scoripus. Am I missing something, like a discount code?
