appleseed just announced a lift of their 15-22 ban so this is a strong buy. Maybe not as strong as in integral 556 with a 22 conversion…
Man I sure wish we didn't have to jump thru all the ATF's hoops, pay ridiculous "tax stamp" fees and end up waiting for months just to buy a suppressor or suppressed firearm like this. It is one of the most ridiculous set of rules ever created around firearms. Seriously it is like having to pay hundreds, wait 6 months to put a muffler in your truck! There is NOTHING reasonable about the laws...it does absolutely nothing to make it keep anyone "safe" or change any current gun crime statistics. It simply is the way our government can over step out second amendment rights because the ATF HATES us having a constitutional right that they are not supposed to be able to infringe upon (although they find every loophole or way to still do it)....its all about making owning a suppressor expensive and frustrating so they can have more control...plus its a "legal" way for them to keep tabs on anyone owning a suppressor. Just ridiculous...
PS: as always this is my own opinion. You are entitled to yours and I will not disrespect that, I only ask for the same.

Or just get a 5" dedicated 22LR upper and slap any ole can on it.
That’s what I did. Built a dedicated .22lr. SBR with a bolt and 4.5 inch barrel from CMMG. OAL of the gun is 20.187 inches minus the silencer. Efile form 1 took just over 3 months. The form 4 for a Silencerco Sparrow took just shy of 10 months. Both were approved 8/23. Cheap bulk pack ammo is subsonic out of a 4 inch barrel. The 22lr subsonics are quieter than pellet gun. Stoopid fun to shoot.
The idea is you can have a shorter overall length while maintaining a 16" barrel + a can. Yes, you can SBR it or build a pistol, but this will get you a shorter package.
What guy wants a shorter package though?
I take it this has to go through the NFA paper work because of the suppressor right?
One of the really stupid ATF rqmts is that once you pay the $200 tax stamp, you’re not done. Every single Suppressor you purchase, USG has to be paid $200. It should be one and done and then buy as many as you want. This does not Address the waiting timemention the delay in receiving the product purchased.
