You can never go wrong with any firearm made by Sig Sauer. I bought the SigPro 2340 when it first came out with the .357Sig round and paid nearly $1000 for it because it was the new hot shit gun to have. Now they sell new in the box for half as much, but I still own the one I purchased a long time ago. I carried it as a detective for a number of years, and when I was reassigned to patrol division. It has deep scrapes and gouges in the grips and polymer receiver, which I consider to be well earned battle scars from many interesting experiences. It still functions perfectly and the night sights are as good today as they were when new. I've also owned several others, including the P220, P226, and P229. I still plan to buy their military version, and am going to have a coin toss to decide which enhanced version to buy now that I am retired and it will be the tool for a gunslut instead of work.

I have this version in 3.6 inch barrel and it's an amazing pistol. Feels so good in your hand. You pay a premium for sigs but the fit and finish is exceptional. They just fee different. I just picked up my first sig AR (716) and it has the same finish and feel. Not I just need to find an MCX for under $1,300 and I will be a happy man;)
