  • There is a reason that the Ruger PC9 is one of my all-time favorite guns. First and foremost, it is one of, if not the most popular caliber in the world, the 9mm. With the current situation not included, you can find 9mm ammo anywhere you find ammo. Not only is 9mm ammo the most available caliber, it also has the widest variety of bullet weights and types. It is an incredibly versatile round that has a proven and long history in the military, law enforcement, and the civilian market. Thrown on top of all that with the fact that it is cheapest round available other than .22 lr (current situation exception) and you have what I call “The King Of The Calibers”.

Because of everything just mentioned and the fact that when shot from a rifle, it has no recoil, it is an ideal gun for practicing technique, new shooters, young, small, and female, it is just an exceptional all around gun. Ruger Maximized on all of this and they were one of the first to do so. The PC9 is modeled after the ever popular and familiar 10/22, which has become an American icon. The PC9 is exceptionally accurate so much so that with an optic, I am able to easily take mine out to 200, 300, and even 400 yards on steel. At 50 yards with good ammo, it is not uncommon to get MOA groups. With the lack of recoil, it is possible to get rounds off and on the steel at 50-100 yards almost as fast as you pull the trigger. The PC9 comes in several configurations including the PC Charger (pistol version) with an ever increasing availability of aftermarket accessories. The Ruger PC9 can easily find a place and purpose in just about any gun safe.

    Bottom Line:
Solid, reliable, VERY accurate, little to no recoil, shoots any ammo I fed it, and just fun to shoot and practice with.
