  • This is probably the best training or plinking tool you can buy right now. Since I have owned it I have put around 1500 rounds through it with only 3 malfunctions, 2 FTFs and one light strike that could be attributed to an aftermarket trigger. I have also used it in three different upper receivers a 10.5" 12.5" and 16". On the 10.5" upper about 30% of the rounds were actually subsonic so on a shorter barrel I would imagine most rounds are subsonic. It should be noted that CMMG only recommends 5.56/.223 chambering but one upper was a .223 wylde chamber which is not a true milspec, so function is not guaranteed but I did not have any issues with mine.

Pros: Very cost effective training and plinking, low noise, true drop in solution, 99%+ reliable
Cons: Very dirty, cleaning required when switching between 5.56 and 22LR
