The AK and AR rifles' designs served as inspirations for the Mk47. After its official introduction in 2014, the CMMG changed the name of the Mk47 platform from Mutant to Resolute. The Mk47, which uses AR-15 controls and modularity and is chambered in 7.62x39mm, takes the most of traditional AK-47 type magazines to guarantee more dependable ammunition feeding. The receiver is the core component of any rifle. For the Mk47, a mid-size receiver based on CMMG's .308 Win Mk3 platform was created. It is a special mid-size hybrid that uses stronger, more durable parts in a smaller package (including CMMG's PowerBolt Technology) for optimal durability without the extra weight and size of the bigger Mk3(AR10/LR308) platform for the medium 7.62x39mm cartridge. The upper and lower receiver are made of 7075-T6 aluminum. The lightning-quick CMMG Ripstock, a 15-inch M-LOK rail system, and a reliable muzzle brake are additional features.
