The MC2C, a slightly bigger variation of the MC1SC, was presented by Mossberg on January 17, 2020. In contrast to the MC1SC's "sc" (subcompact) size, the "c" identifies it as a compact-size handgun. The 3.9-inch barrel of the MC2C is short, but the frame is long enough to hold more rounds than the MC1SC. Double-stack mags are available for the MC2C in sizes of either 13 (flush fit) or 15 rounds (extended). The stainless steel slide is available in matte stainless or black DLC finishes. Three-dot night sights are located on top of the slide. The dovetails make it simple to swap them out for a different brand of Tritium-capsulated night sights. The one-piece barrel has a fully-supported chamber and an integral feed ramp. A large, spring-loaded extractor is located behind the chamber and is used to drag the discharged cases out when it rotates. The slide has cocking serrations. The frame is made of a polymer composition, fortified with glass fibers. The MC2SC is a version with shorter barrel (3.4 inches) and more modern features than the MC1SC.
