Type 1 vs Type 2 has nothing to do with adjustable brightness. The Type 2 has better battery contacts which eliminates the flicker issues the Type 1 sometimes gets. The adjustable brightness RMRs are RM06, RM07 and RM09, depending on the dot MOA size. They come in Type 1 or 2
I signed up for a Visa, with that you get 10%, that turned out to be more than 20 off 100, and they give you 25 points, that took another $25 off. Added tax back to it, and i'm $253 shipped
Don’t care if it’s the Type 1. For $270, I’ll take it
Whats the discount code for the $20 ????
Go to Cabela’s and register for the Canela bucks. They will send you a code.
How do you get the email code????? Thanks
Yuh glad I checked here first, the pics and compare prices links show the rm01 so I'd say that's the model for sale here
The pictures are funny on these. Where's the brightness adjustment?
You're right! These are different from the last deal. This one is auto adjusting brightness.
Cabela's description mentions adjustments for 8 settings so I wonder if their description is wrong here. Don't want people buying this assuming it has manual controls.
If you read the actual Cabela's site page description it says Automatic and nothing about being adjustable by the operator.
Which I, like you, see in this description. But your post is very a few weeks old at this point.
I'm not sure if I want to do this or not.
From what I'm reading on Trijicon's site this is a gen 2 with the new battery terminals to fix the blink issues, but that's number to number, I have no idea what the Type 1 number was.........so this is not something i'm comfy just jumping on
Since this is pertinent, this info on the Auto only models helped me decide not to peruse this one, I'll drop the $60 difference and get the adjustable
Auto Adjust LED Models
These are the automatic adjustment LED models RM01 & RM02. These are pretty much identical to the RM06, RM07 & RM09 that we just covered except that they are auto-adjust only. There is no manual adjustment feature or capability. The battery life is rated at about 2 years of typical use but will vary based on the lighting conditions that your optic is in. The RM01 features a 3.25MOA dot just like the RM06 and the RM02 is the 6.5MOA dot similar to the RM07. These too are available in Black, Grey, FDE, OD Green & a newly released Nickel Boron finish.
While the RM01 and RM02 are a little cheaper than the RM06 & RM07, they are not the ideal option. A lot of users have reported issues with the dot “washing out” in low light conditions when a weapon mounted light (WML) or handheld is used making it difficult or impossible to see the dot. It is advised to go with the manually adjustable RM06 or RM07 version to avoid this problem.
Agreed. I believe this is for the RM01 LED model which doesn't have the buttons on the side...meaning it doesn't have 8 brightness settings. As far as I know, the sights come with either auto or manual adjust, not both.
For what it's worth, the question was asked on the product page and this was the answer:
"3.25 is RM01
6.5 is RM02

Question... if the model sold on cabelas for $290 is in fact model RM01 and RM02 then the accompanying description on gun.deals as well as their website and every flier I have been sent advertising the Trijicon RMR for sale for $290 is inccorect. According to the Trijicon' s website the RM01 and RM02 models are LED only and do not offer dual illumination which means it does not have tritium which every description states. If this is correct I am quite upset because this is false advertising and I've already ordered my RMR. Anyone know for sure what model these are and if they do or do not offer dual illumination with tritium?
The manually adjustable ones also have an auto setting.
Can't believe how good this deal is. Anyone know why the huge price drops on these RMRs through Cabelas? I'm definitely not complaining. Just curious as to what may be allowing them to move these so cheap.
Trijicon is bringing out updated models and it seems that Cabelas has been buying up all the old stock
I just saw from above that this is for the "Type 1" 3.25 MOA RM01. Thanks again!
Correct. The price drop is because Trijicon recently came out with the type 2. This price is for the type 1. Only difference is the type 2 has auto illumination as well as manual brightness controls. Definitely not worth paying double for that feature. I'm buying a couple of these Trijicons type 1's. One for myself and one for my brother for Christmas!
I won’t be buying a red dot with a well known issue. Regardless of the discount. $290 is a shit load of money for a flickering red dot.
