Huge XD fan here, I own 3 of them.( xds, Xdm, XD competition)
It's an ugly gun but dam it's easy to shoot. Waiting to pick up the mod 2 4 inch but I calculate it's worth about $350. I think the mod 2 was developed for the army side arm debactle, so Springfield may be sitting on a lot of inventory.
Really tempting at this price. Does anyone have experience with this model?
Bought it back in March for 429.00. I've fired a few hundred rounds through it with no problems. If you don't like the "grip zone" you can buy talon grips or traction grips to cover the writing.....
Tried it out at a range that lets you rent/exchange and I really liked it. Say what you want about the "grip zone" lettering, but the ergonomics felt really good to me and I shot much better with it than other 9mm's! I've been keeping an eye on prices ever since. This is a good deal (best I've seen recently was $409).
However, I've been waiting to see if Springfield would do another Gear Up and Go promotion like last year (2 free mags, range bag, and mag holder). But, it doesn't look like they will because it ran Sep-Dec last year and they haven't announced any promos this month. Oh well, I'll just find a decent used one and Springfield can miss out on a purchase.
Why only 16? are people that pussy about a larger grip? XDM compact 4 inch 19 +1...
I own XD, XD Mod2, XDS, XDM, in varios models and calibers, all are very nice guns, wish I could buy more of the better ones.
