It’s had many names in its century-old history and today, we reimagine this renowned design for modern use. Based on one of the most prolific and popular pistols in small arms history, the Springfield Armory® SA-35 gives today’s shooters a modern take on a revered design. Featuring subtle but significant upgrades to John Moses Browning’s original P-35, the 9mm SA-35 captures the appeal of the “wood and steel” era of arms making while offering the upgraded enhancements of today’s defensive pistols. Made in the U.S.A., the SA-35 features rugged forged steel parts for strength and durability, improved ergonomics and enhanced controls, modern sights, an improved feed ramp design, and an increased 15-round capacity. Configured without a magazine disconnect for a drop free magazine the SA-35 features a factory-tuned trigger with a smooth pull and crisp, clean break. Call it a legend, call it an icon, but whatever you do, don’t call it a classic.

Firearm Features
Forged frame and slide: To ensure longevity and strength, the SA-35 features a slide and frame made from rugged forgings, unlike inferior castings.
Recontoured Hammer: The Springfield Armory SA-35’s hammer features improved geometry to prevent the risk of “hammer bite” to the web of the hand.
Extended Thumb Safety: A subtle but significant upgrade to the SA-35 design is the use of a modernized and extended thumb safety that is easier to engage.
Modern Sight Configuration: The white dot front and Tactical Rack rear sights of the SA-35 offer users an enhanced sight picture for improved performance.
Checkered walnut Grips: Featuring attractive grain and finely cut checkering, the SA-35’s walnut grips complement the matte blue finish of the carbon steel.
Beveled Magwell: A magwell has been machined into the frame of the SA-35 for effortless reloads.

For me to buy at that price it needs a better looking finish and and optics cut.

I can't believe that people paid what they did for these. I got to handle one of these locally. There is no way I'm paying $700 for this. I like it. I was expecting a bad trigger but it was surprisingly good. But the finish is what you would expect on a $400 gi 1911. At this price it should look really sharp.

I think it's a fair price. I guess I'm comparing it to the $600 plastic Glocks, Sigs, etc. which can be relatively easily produced, all finished in DLC or matte coatings. And also the 1911's from the same and similar makers in this price range. This is all steel, from USA, hand fit after CNC, and a new product. I'm assuming SA will introduce a stainless and polished blue sometime in the future at a higher price, with this as a teaser to feel out the market. I thought the matte and overall finish was well done, although I would have preferred a phosphate for the base gun. To each his own.

I just received a beautiful SA 35 via Sportmans Outdoor, I signed up for their CC and got $50 off so I paid $685 incl shipping, tax and FFL fee. Well Merry Christmas to me! You just need to refresh every few days and you'll see the SA 35 is in stock. Worth the wait trust me!!!

This backorder listing has been on/off for over a year now. Has anyone actually received a SA-35 from this vendor. My past experience with them has been uniformly positive. TIA.

its a pay up front back order... not a sale...

...the SA-35 is made in USA...various materials and parts are sourced, and SA doesn't say from where, just like many other gun manufacturers including Glock, Beretta, SIG, etc.....extractors are replaceable wear parts....fitted steel handguns almost always require an average 500 round break-in period...

RUN don't walk away from the SA made hi-power, FN is making them new as well with an upgraded extractor, the original extractor was the 1st part to fail and they needed to be hand fitted to function properly, go FN for a new Hi-power look at how they upgraded the extractor. SA has not made a single gun just a company name that imports from Croatia or Brazil.

The FN isn’t even a Hi Power. They completely changed the gun to the point that Hi Power magazines don’t even work in it. Plus they want $13-1400 for the thing. If you want a Hi Power and you’re ok with it not being an original FN/Browning, I’d buy a Girsan. I’ve got one of the OPS match models. It’s a great gun, with an extended beavertail, a light rail, and no mag disconnect out of the box for $620. The fit and finish are impressive for the price. Seen nothing but good reviews for them, too. They’re also actually innovating with the original design, with a compact detective version of the original.

Springfield also makes the SA-35, 1911s, and M1As. It’s the polymer models and the Hellion that come from HS Produkt in Croatia.

The new FN Hi-Powers suck ass and they’re not nearly worth their inflated price tag

Hi Billb, I know what you mean, but the ones who paid double the price must be kicking themselves in the can. The stores that were charging the out of reality prices must have lost a lot of customers because of the greed, just my opinion. Thank you for the reply.

MSRP is $699. Those charging nearly double knowing there are some that have to have it first.

Did they correct the extractor, I seen some comments that they break?

Weren’t these selling on Gun Broker for around $1,200 not to long ago? This looks like a decent price, anyone with experience with this model? Thank you

MSRP for these is $699. Gunbroker was charging a $500 idiot tax on top of that because apparently there are some people out there who like being grossly overcharged.

Cole I know what ya mean, wonder how the ones who spent $1,200 for one on GB feel now when ya can buy one for $700.
