Description

The Smith & Wesson M&P® Shield M2.0™ 9mm brings to the compact Shield platform many of the innovations and upgrades from the full-sized M&P M2.0. That means the Shield M2.0 features a lighter, more refined trigger with a crisp break, plus a distinct reset you can both feel and hear, for better feedback to the shooter and more precise trigger control.

The M&P Shield M2.0 9mm also features S&W’s more aggressive grip texture to give you a better hold of your pistol, further enhancing your control. The Shield M2.0 can be disassembled without having to depress the trigger using a new takedown lever design.

- 3-dot sight system for fast, accurate target acquisition
- Also available with a manual thumb safety and/or Crimson Trace laser sight option - see separate listings
- Striker-fired - no hammer to snag on clothing during the draw
- Accurate 1:10" twist rifling
- Armornite® durable corrosion resistant finish

The S&W M&P Shield M2.0 9mm retains all the virtues of Smith & Wesson’s "Gen 1" Shield: a thin, compact profile that makes it excellent for all-day carry and self-defense use, low bore axis that helps you recover quickly from recoil for faster follow-up shots, and an 18° grip angle that makes for a natural-pointing pistol.

A better pistol & A screaming $ deal to boot is the S&W PERFORMANCE CENTER M&P SHIELD 9MM, which is listed here 4 days ago & still available from Brownells & ya get a $100 Brownells Gift Card. Final price for me was $270 with the sale, code, & gift card! It's a better pistol for many reasons. GO READ THE COMMENTS ON THAT MODEL!

I realized how well the glocks are made after purchasing M&P 9 shield back in May with a $75 rebate.

The reviews all seem to agree that the M&Ps are of high quality. The Glocks may be better, I don't know. If so, how? Curious to know as I did own a Glock 17 at one point. I have handled an M&P, but I haven't purchased one. What differences in quality have you noted?

I've owned a Shield 9mm for three years and its a quality and reliable gun. Never a malfunction. Glock makes a quality gun also but in my opinion its over rated and over priced.

*snort, I have about every glock out there, and every M&P out there and there are no "quality" differences. M&P makes a kick ass gun and so does glock

I don't own one...at least not yet. But I have shot it plenty and find it to be a very good gun. It is very similar to Glock in a lot of ways. Remember, the best gun is the one you shoot best (and goes bang every time).

Glockman, shut your mouth sweetheart. Momma always said “shut the fuck up Glockman”.

I like my shields, they are affordable, reliable, accurate and have lifetime warranty.

The Shields are top notch, despite Glockman's witty and eloquent comments about them, like "these guns sux." The pricing on the 2.0 models seems to be nothing special though.

These will go down in price rather quickly these are the first round put out by Smith, once they become more available they'll go down to around $400. Yes a few months ago you could get a gen1 for around $225 but you can't anymore that I know of. I still wont be buying one since I cant stand the M&P Triggers and just picked up an HK vp9sk which is a far superior gun to just about all polymer pistols.

The shield trigger doesn't bother me as much as the full size. I get 9+1 in a nice package with the Apex +2 base.

wait, what? A stipple job like the .45 shield + the same crisper trigger? and you wanna put it out at $439 while the gen 1 is $289?... yeah, that ain't enough to get me to change. Not when I was picking up gen 1s for $225 after rebate a few months back. No real internal changes besides a MILDLY better trigger and rougher texture......

Exactly! Picked up a gen 1 with rebate and put on an Apex trigger and still way under this price. I will stick with my gen1 and G43

M2.0 = bionic parts. You’ll be able to shoot it around corners like in that movie with Angelina Jolie and Common.

Yes, am still waiting for my 2nd SW rebate for ammo and mags to come thru. Submitted online early July and was told by SW that they have no way of telling if they received it on their end. The 75 rebate took 4 months. HK rebate came in 4 weeks. Just plain sad...

At least Smith honors the rebate, and $75 off a $300 firearm is quite nice. I did get my rebate; so they do honor it.

They had a stack of these on my gun shops counter today, what a complete piece of shit. The fit and finish on these is garbage. I guess they call them the "shield" because they would work better as a shield than as a firearm.

What in the hell are you talking about, you obviosly don't really know! These are ultra reliable firearms and great for concealed carry. I don't understand why you would bash something you obviously don't know anything about. Even the most novice gun owner knows that the Shield is a good gun thats why they have sold record amounts of them.

They are garbage built for the masses that don't know quality firearms as you obviously fall into. As I posted I held 1 in my hand and the fit and finish are not good. It feels cheap in the hand, I wouldn't myself use it as a primary or secondary weapon. Just because something sells in huge numbers doesn't have anything to do with quality. It's an ok gun that is marketed at the entry level shooter which is the largest segments of gun buyers. I know what I'm talking about and to say it's a great gun instantly takes any credibility you have away. You should leave the gun counter at walmart and go to an actual gun shop and compare it to other guns and you will see. Stating sales numbers is completely ignorant.

Ummm.... I own a gun store and I've put significantly more rounds down range than most people with my time in service and as a civilian. I'm not calling myself an expert but I think I have a leg to stand on when I say that the Shield is a great firearm. Accurate, easy to control, and reliable. Only time it's ever malfunctioned was ammo induced. However I had the shitty trigger. I wouldn't care if it was 15lbs of pull if the reset was tactile.

The Gen 1 Shield 9mm is $150 less at $289.99 and comes with 2 extra 8 round mags at GunBuyer.com

And even that is not the best deal. I saw the Shield for $225 a couple months ago after $75 MIR from Smith & Wesson.

I wish that deal was still around. Maybe around the holidays it will come back.

You still get a 7 and 8 round magazine. I'd guess old mags work fine too.

Despite all the negativity here, I plan to get one. Love my Shield and carry it every day!

USE CODE "MBM" FOR $35 OFF AND $424.99 DELIVERED.

Ill enjoy my pc shield for quite a bit longer seeing this price. Was really hoping this would have enough changes to get me all hot and bothered. I am neither. Oh well, still a great gun.

Especially considering there really isn’t anything “wrong” with the gen 1. I’d much rather get the performance center edition of the gen 1 for the money.

thats a LARGE jump in price from the "gen 1". I honestly couldn't justify spending that kind of $ for this piece.
