This knife kept me alive during the Lewis and Clark expedition. Highly recommended!

Came today, nice knife. Very well built and cheap for decent steel.

August 2018 bought one for $30 from Amazon through gun.deals. Not the first time I've bought this knife I've given several away as gifts to outdoor minded people. I'm going to keep this one and try to make it fail. All the ones I've given away since before 2012 no reported failures. Taylor brands is the conglomerate that makes these. Price and value are apparently excellent with these.

I bought my kid one of these and he can't break it and that boy can tear up an anvil in about 30 minutes.

I don't know a lot about knives, looked like decent deal so I bought it. I've had it a while. Will most likely get another. Lot heavier/sturdier than I expected. I own one other knife that I think might out perform this one in a "dang I need big knife scenario"- Gerber bmf. Lot more costly and heavier too.

I'm a knife noob, but how does this stack up against the Cold Steel Tanto? At roughly double the price, is this knife head and shoulders above it?

if you want a good knife and are willing to spend the money on cold steel i would get cold steel you will not be disapointed

For roughly $5.00 more ($40.14 with free shipping), Amazon has the SCHF10 with some different features, some may think better.

If you want to see a very good comparison between the SCHF9 and the SCHF10, here are links to YouTube videos for both:

yeah but big difference in the steel, 1095 of this one is superior in my opinion. And usually it's the more expensive option, but not this time

Looks like the seller that was $40.14 went up over night to $41.35, but a different seller (Blade Shop) went down to $39.98 with free shipping.

Would rather have the one you suggested.

Knife is made in taiwan.
Sheath is made in china.

Looks solid. Bigger than I though heavier too. Looks solid. Came pretty sharp. Not as sharp as a expected but then again it probably has a higher angle than most.

How does this compare to the Becker BK2? They are both 1/4" thick 1095 Carbon Steel. This looks like it probably has a more ergonomic handle. Where is this knife made?

I have the #9 and #10...both great knives even if the price were doubled. I also own the Ka-bar full size and short fighting knives. These Schrades are just as nice, if not nicer, but without the tradition and history of the Ka-bar. If you need a knife of this type, these Schrades are hard to beat.

This is a GREAT knife! Simply put, there is no better knife in this price range, and it performs as well as any Becker or Ka Bar in its class at a significant savings.

I don't think anything priced under $100 can touch it. If you need a serious survival tool on a budget, this is it!

Looks like a pretty awesome knife for the money. Only thing that turns me off is that I'd have to get a different sharpener to get at that concave edge. Everything else seems like a win.

Never mind. Dumb suggestion on my part.

This is a better video, but the first few minutes are boring. Just FF to the meaty parts of the review.
