PTR 9CT 601 8.86" 9mm 30Rd TB Pistol
The 9CT model features an M-LOK compatible aluminum handguard. The nitride treated 8.86” 3-lug barrel is threaded to 1/2 x 28. Both a push button and paddle magazine release are standard. The 4.5” precision-welded top rail enables use of your favorite optic or the traditional iron sights (included). The polymer end cap with swivel adapter provides a sling attachment point. The gun ships in a heavy duty range case with: single point bungee sling, two 30-round magazines and rear sight adjustment tool.

I really don't understand the appeal of a $1700 semi-auto MP5 knock off. An AR-9 pistol gets the job done for a third of the price.
The biggest mechanical reason is the fact that these are delayed blowback instead of straight blowback like cheap 9mm AR's. If you compare these to delayed blowback AR pistols, they actually aren't priced all that bad. For example, CMMG's delayed blowback AR pistols are around $1,599, and Angstadt arms has one that's $2,500. You can't just compare 9mm to 9mm with no other considerations.
It's a USA made clone with a lifetime warranty and HK style function. Compatible with most HK parts and its ready to go as an auto sear host at half the cost of an HK.
I somehow doubt people are buying these for auto sear hosts, but that would at least make some sense. I still say an AR-9 is a better deal.
An AR-9 is a "better deal" if all you want is a 9mm bullet going out of a sub(ish)gun's barrel and you do not care how that occurs or the platform used. And there is nothing wrong with that if that is your only concern.
Other than the caliber, an AR-9 and a MP5 clone could not be more different in terms of operation, size, pro's AND con's of each, formfactor, etc.
To a lot of people this would be like suggesting they drive a manual transmission Ford Fiesta, AM/FM only, and lacking A/C since the only concern seems to be the cheapest and most utilitarian use.

Everything I’ve read about these led me to this conclusion. Good gun, ships with bad mags. Get German mags, don’t use flat nose ammo. Other than that, PTR customer service is great and will take care of any major issues.
I used to own one of these pieces of junk. Had to send it back immediately to the factory because the magazine release broke instantly. Don’t waste your money.
You gave up on it because the mag release broke? Shit breaks, it happens. Mine has been awesome, so I went ahead and added another stamp to the collection.
Not worth it 500 bucks lol I can get a tec 9 for like 350 why would you pay this much ????
You can throw bullets by hand for free, but at some point you have to consider that cheaper doesn't mean better. You're comparing an infamously garbage subgun to one of the most popular and successful subguns in history. There's a reason that one of them is a few hundred bucks and the other is a couple thousand.
Good luck finding a TEC-9 for $350. This is 1990 anymore.
I think palmetto said at shot show any making a copy of the mp5 under $1000. Still ain't seen it yet.
I resisted these for so long but for $1551.99 I can't say no. Best price I've seen anywhere and of course kygunco has free shipping and no tax to AZ!
