PSA's AR line has definitely improved every year, buuuuut it hasn't "We can charge BCM prices now!", improved...
I say that as an owner of 2x PSA ARs, & a GF3 AK. The AK's are fantastic, but if we're being honest - they're competing in a field where a friggin' WASR is the baseline for quality on import builds (without paying VEPR prices), and there's only 1-2 other American manufacturers. The issues holding PSA back are self-imposed.

I hate that they'll never be great, but could be.

There is NO doubt to anyone at SHOT Show that they have the engineering chops on-staff, but I know 2 of their ex-machinists who quit due to the company's toxic work environment - specifically, the CEO. From what they've told me - that's what creates the QC issues.

The machine shops are either having to constantly train new talent all of the time due to turnover, or they're over-selling, which means they can't QC in small batches. It sucks, because they have a lot of potential, but from what I understand it's the CEO's ego that causes the issues. Any time that's the case, you're stuck.

My PSA builds are fun, but they aren't duty rifles - plinking/hunting ONLY. Go read the reviews on Glassdoor, and then decide if you want to trust your life to a rifle coming out of that environment. Here's hoping they get it sorted & become a tier-1 brand! Sadly, I think the focus is purely revenue driven with little-to-no room for earning the right to charge their new prices.
