Why does this have a pistol length gas system on a 16" barrel?

A few short years ago AAC basically had a monopoly on the 300BLK chambering and it was very expensive to get into. Fast forward to today, and you see amazing deals like this, so that anyone with an AR-15 can get into a .30 cal round. Good times. With this barrel length no tax stamp is needed. A complete 300BLK upper will work with standard AR-15 lowers and magazines. Just be sure to keep your ammo segregated :)
