I have a champion Safe co. Safe and it is downright majestic. I found it to be better than liberty in my research. Any safe is better than nothing and always bolt it to the floor. Also keep in mind, an electronic lock will fail if an emp goes off. That would suck to have to break into your own safe cuz the lock was fried.

I bought this safe when it was called the Centurion DLX. It's the very first and cheapest option in the US made line. Mine came with the S&G electronic lock (the only way to go imo) and under $750 out the door. This is a shit deal. In fact it's a total rip off and flush of money, but unless you've bought a few safes in the past and presently looking for more, you probably won't know that.. For $1000 you might as well pony up another $200 and buy a Mexican made Superior or Champion Safe with external hinges and 1/4 inch steel plate door. I've done A LOT of research on safes and a "deal" like this makes me cringe.

Regardless, this is a great, simple first safe. It weighs 455 lbs and is an absolute bitch to move by yourself. I know because I've done it twice. The draw backs are the interior door hinges which limit it's swing to just about 90 degrees and lack of door pocket organizer. You can buy them from liberty for an additional hundy. Not worth it, and not something I even noticed until I checked out nicer, external hinge safes. This was my first safe.

Shopping for safes can seem difficult and overwhelming. You want to protect your stuff and get the best for your money. Well this isn't it. My advice is stay out of the big box stores. A good, reputable gun shop or safe dealer will throw the best sales, it's what they do. This safe is the ABSOLUTE minimum in security/fire protection for a guy seeking a relatively safe place to store his valuables.. Again, this price garbage. A proper and honest deal for this safe would be around $600-650 mark.

Remember, MSRP and what they ACTUALLY get for them are two different things. Places like Cabellas and Gander Mountain are probably the worst places to buy a safe. The mark up is insane but they have a steady stream of idiots coming through the doors willing to pay whatever's on the tag... $400 over priced with free in store pick up...lol

With Black Friday so close I would wait before purchasing any safes, unless you are somehow just desperate. Most places will feature safes for 50% off or more as part of a Black Friday deal. I got a $1000 safe last year for $400 as a door buster deal.

LOLZ, I can assure you I do not work for liberty. Wish I did. If you read the other post more carefully, you might have to pull your head out of your ass first, you should be able to figure out where I work. LOLZ self promotion vote down ... YOUR a CLOWN!

I didn't see that thread till after this one, but the same still applies. Paying double for a safe with only marginally better quality? Sure made in the USA is nice. But just cause its made in China doesn't mean its necessarily worse (though I would agree a lot of the time it does). All the videos you posted, how many are actual cannon safes? Probably none. The cheap china shit they show are the cheapy $500 and below safes that are indeed junk.

So tell me how people are going to break into a PROPERLY secured cannon safe over a Liberty? If both are bolted to the floor, there really isn't much difference. If they show up with a cutting torch, both of them are done in seconds anyways. They will both protect against a casual attacker just fine if installed properly.

And you should use proper grammer if you're going to call someone a clown...kind of makes you look like the clown. It is you're, not your, for next time.

Id have to say that "much better than a Costco made in china safe" is purely subjective. Its obvious you work for liberty.

The Winchester 24gun is a better option IMO. $300 cheaper, is a 12 bolt (1 1/4" instead of 1") quad direction lock, still 2 layers fireboard and a nicer interior, 100lb heavier, other specs are about the same. I was gonna buy one of tjese until someone showed me the Winchester. Its a lot more safe for a lot less money.

I would have bought a liberty presidential 2 years ago, but all the dealers in my area are asses.. They charge by the hour, before they even leave their store, they said that they would charge if in traffic or not by the hour. Who is to say that they aren't watching a movie, going to lunch or sleeping and still trying to charge for a delivery and install. I decided not to do business with any of the dealers in the South East Florida area, and at those inflated rates without verification they are doing anything, if I need a second safe, I'll order a custom made Sturdy from the west coast, or I'll wait for a jewlery store to close down and get rid of another real TL30 safe. Too bad, I'd rather buy American than made in china

They aren't a Liberty dealer, but Banks Safe in Ft. Lauderdale is your best bet for safe installation. Talk to Judith, you won't get a run around and they charge flat rates. Best of luck.
