A recent HK pistol design, the P30 is a modern police and security pistol that combines function and safety. Ergonomic features include a special grip frame with interchangeable backstrap inserts and lateral plates, allowing the pistol to be individually adapted to any user. Ambidextrous controls include dual slide releases and magazine release levers.
Extensively tested, the P30 has already been adopted by several European police agencies. Excellent weight and balance make the P30 naturally pointable, easy to control, and accurate to shoot. An open notch rear sight with luminous (non-radioactive) contrast points allows for fast and accurate target acquisition, even under poor lighting conditions.
During a 2010 endurance test, a randomly selected P30 test pistol fired more than 91,000 rounds without any major component failures.

This is based on the USP which, by all accounts, is a marginal firearm. I would rather have a glock or Ruger than this firearm. Highly prone to jamming, and the "night sights" are battery operated. No deal.
Damn, you are one of the least educated firearm people if you truly believe that? First off the USP is distinctinctly different than the p30, secondly marginal? Just because you can’t afford a USP doesn’t mean it’s marginal or highly prone to jamming. A glock & a ruger over an HK....tell me glocktard, who was first in the polygonal bore design and polymer framed handgun market, glock or HK?
I concur with JamesWWIII, you are stupid. At the very least you are def ignorant.
Don't some police officers trade their Sigs in for USPs?
I don't think he is 'uneducated', I think he is just full of shit. Not sure why he hasn't been banned for submitting false info on products.
Good lord, you are stupid.
Troll harder, moron.
Is this better than the VP40 all things being equal?
Better, probably not. Different, yes. This is hammer fired vs the VP40 Striker fired. I like them both both but I prefer hammer fired. Can't go wrong with either.
All kinds of deals out there ever since the tacti-cool crowd suddenly abandoned the .40. As if it won't poke a hole in you or something...
So does the FBI count as part of the “tacti-cool crowd”?
What decision? Get this to go withthe USP. The USP is the best quality arm on the market. Given the limitations of polymers. They aren't going to take a direct blast from a blow torch.
I am a huge fan of the HK pistols, my duty weapon is the VP9 but I do have to say that the "luminescent sights " are surely a poor afterthought ad marketing ploy. They are nothing more than glow in the dark painted sights. First you must charge them with light, and second they only last a few minutes before going dark. Definitely NOT anything like night sights. Or worth spending any extra cash for them on a weapon. Other than this problem the pistols themselves are great, super accurate, reliable and very comfortable and easy to shoot. Decent deal here.
The 40 cal P30 holds 13+1, not 15+1 that's the 9mm

This seems like another stellar deal on a HK handgun, right? I don't actively track the prices on these but I did a quick historical search and it appears to have dipped to $699 about 17 months ago. That's still $100 more than this deal.
Man, I just bought a USP two days ago. Decisions, decisions...
Deal of the day, if I didn't just get a new toy in I would have went with this.
