This is a good way to put together a cheap, more than likely reliable rifle.

You could also spend another 50.00-75.00 and get a full metal lower. The spikes full lowers are everywhere right now.

Either way. 400.00 or 450.00 is a great price. lol

Something I'd start my kiddo out with or recommend to a beginner.

Yeah, you mentioned that the week before this most recent comment. I have this lower and it works perfectly. Do you do this for the attention or are you trying to get your post count up?

Great deal. Poly lowers are strong and durable.

This is a bargain deal. Great choice for a truck gun or for fun. I have an NFA lower and it has been flawless to date. I don't think the majority of people buying this would be taking it to war. If the commercial tube bothers you, change it out for a mil-spec. You're saving enough to put money into accessories and upgrades anyway.

I got a stripped and a complete NFA lowers. While I liked the plastic lpk trigger, I felt better with a regular lpk. Both lowers are fine and chugging along... but I've never mortared either...

Gotta have one. Sounds like a killer deal

Just bought this lower for $104.95 shipped!!! I used THANKYOU coupon code for the extra five dollars off. This will be my first AR. Also lucky my ffl guy only charges $10 transfer fee.

I own this lower, and have ran a .22, .223, & 300 aac uppers on it with zero issues. I don't plan on seeing active duty like the rest of the "I must have mil spec everything" crew. For $100 you can't do better.

Yeah you can...anderson lower...ptac lpk...blackhawk stock and buffer.

50, 29.99 and 32 dollars respectively. I pay the 10 to 15 more for metal and milspec items...

Where is the blackhawk stock and buffer available for $32?

Out of stock now...I bought 6 last week. Seen them on amazon and other places from time to time too. Look around at brownells and the other big places.

Ok, so your example doesnt exist. As far as 'better', a $42 NFA lower with LPK plus stock weighs quite a bit less, especially if you get a lighter stock like the Ace ARUL-E.

People arent trading durability for cost with these lowers. As you mention, the cost difference is not great. They are trading a small degree of durability for a loss of weight. Same when you choose anything other than a HBAR. Trimming 7-13 ounces off the lower is a difference you can feel in maneuverability, speed, and you will definitely feel it when hiking.

Would a strong person notice the difference between handling an 8-10# rifle and a 5# rifle like mine? Yes, but maybe it wont affect them as much as it would, say, my daughter. However, a strong person with a 5# rifle can also pack on an additional 5# of ammo, water, supplies, etc before they hit the same loadout. And THAT can make a very big difference.

For the young a lighter weapon means starting training younger, as well as more time at the range before hitting the fatigue threshold where further training is useless.

Polymer receivers suck... that's what people said about poly pistols when they first came out. It's since been proven extremely successful in pistols. Why not in rifles... pretty sure it is there too. Like pistols though, I believe the upper should be metal not polymer. I'm not yet convinced on those like the bushmaster carbon.

I'm one of the early adopters of NFA LW-15 lowers. Last 6 of my serial is 0020xx and I got it almost 2 years ago. Between bench shooting, local carbine matches, local steel shoot competitions, weekly indoor & outdoor trips I have racked up anywhere from 12,000-14,000 rounds on my lower, give or take 500. For everything other than bench shooting I've used the cheapest, dirtiest ammo I could find that'd go boom everything I pulled the trigger (Tula, wolf, herter etc). For bench the poison was 80gr A-Max with bob sled loaders. Figure 7-10 boxes (20 each) per week for 100 weeks you do the math.

My LW-15 lower gave me ZERO problems since day one and it has been dropped, neglected, bumped and abused in many different ways for countless times. I've duracoated, unduracoated and re-duracoated a few times, played with the guts a lot and never once have I regretted drinking to the cool aid of " u bought poly? Why u hate 'murica?!?".

Relax...

For plinking, or someone ( youth or significant other) learning the AR platform, or trying it out on a reduced investment, this combo's great. I like the texture of my Omni lower better (mimics alum lowers). All for less that a new Glock...

The plastic FCG (on the NFA) has a sharp breaking trigger, actually better than out-the-bag mil-spec. I've changed it for a 2stage Geissele that cost more than the whole lower, and magpul furniture (again, cost) but I needed the weight savings, not a lack of choices for lowers. Those magnesium lowers opened at $200 mid crisis, so that was not an option.

I have a couple of NFA lowers with a couple hundred rounds through them. A few things to be aware of:

The joebob lower has a commercial diameter receiver extension. This can be weaker than the mil-spec extension, and may have limited stock upgrade options. The tube is still pretty damn strong. Non 'operators' will probably never know the difference. Simply refrain from butt-stroking terrorists and mortaring the rifle.

The polymer lower has the SAME known weak point as the aluminum lowers, where the receiver extension meets the receiver. Overenthusiastic internet reviewers have busted billet aluminum lowers at that point. This weak point is slightly exacerbated by the polymer. Its still a pretty strong connection. Refrain from butt-stroking terrorists, and mortaring the rifle and you'll be fine.

The mold seems to have been made for a REALLY tight fit to the upper receiver. You may even need to file a bit to get a good fit. I did not on my uppers, but have heard of it. I consider this a feature, not a defect, my upper and lower mate into a single piece this way. Solid as a rock. Many people spend a lot of time and money to get a fit like this.

Likewise, the mold makes for a really tight mag release. This has happened on all of mine, and pretty much every review i've seen. 30 seconds with a file on the left side fixed it up perfect.

It doesnt look like alot of weight on paper, but i feel the difference between these lowers and my aluminum ones.

Don't tell people to buy polymer lowers...

As others have said, most people would be better served to buy a forged lower. The Anderson Arms is reasonable and I have been very pleased with multiple blemished PSA lowers. I personally have this upper on a PSA blemished lower and the gun has been excellent.

For my money I would pay the extra $10 bucks at PSA and upgrade to a forged anderson receiver and metal buffer tube.

I thought about doing the Anderson lower and the complete lower kit from PSA $80, but it's $30 more plus shipping on the lower and kit, and I'd have to put the lower together too. Others have said that the MOE PSA kit for another $20 is worth it. For my next build I'll get the Anderson and MOE kit from PSA. I opted for the $300 upper w/o BCG & charge handle and got the better BCG/charge for $110 right now. I'd already had the NFA LW-15 coming so I'll rock with it for a while and see. BTW, the Vortex Strikefire/Aluminium sights package for $150 right now is a sweet deal. I wonder if they will co-witness with the Strikefire and with the front sight on the $290 upper deal?

Wow - I didn't realize even the buffer tube is plastic.... I'm a really cheap bastard but even I think the extra *twenty* bucks is worth it.

I could be wrong, but that is sure what I seem to recall.

The buffer tube on the LW-15 is most certainly not polymer. It is metal. I have had two LW-15 lowers, both purchased from Joebob's, one of them has about a thousand rounds through it with no problems. Haven't shot the other one yet. I have no complaints about the LW15 and will buy more in the future for sure. Check out this recent review:

Its metal, just commercial diameter instead of mil-spec diameter. Most mil diameter isn't mil-spec material anyhow...

Ok I stand corrected on the buffer tube issue. Are any of the parts in the LPK plastic, which are traditionally made of metal? Hammer, trigger, etc?

We bought 4 of these exact combos before Christmas...seems like a stellar deal (just need to add a rear sight, mag and shoot!)!
