I have had a CPX-2 for about 6 years now. I bought it used and it has been really reliable for me. I've been using cheap ammo and handloads. My main complaint is its long trigger reset, but I am fine using it for self-defence because it has proven reliable. For everyone saying you must spend more on a self-defense pistol, I think that there is probably less than 1% chance that I will ever need to use a gun to defend myself. There is also well below a 1% chance that the gun will fail. Ultimately I am just unwilling to spend more money on such an off chance that a more expensive gun will help.

I've had my sccy cpx2 for about 2 yes now & have never had any issues with it what so ever. Maybe I got lucky & it was built on a good day??? Any way I use it as a secondary ccw partnered with my fns40. I feel its small & light enough for that roll plus it gives u a decent round count in a backup carry option.

In this day of weak service, questionable tactics (lost leaders items posted etc.) Gun Store/FFL endorsement is almost as important as firearm opinions and feedback. Good info to know - headed to online store. You "theman" :D

I just can't force myself to buy garbage, no matter the price.

Purchased one and after one day at the range I got rid of it. Long trigger pull I can handle but don't like. Also when using a small flathead screw driver to remove the disassembly pin the pin broke. Sccy did replace it for free. Was in mailbox one week later. Never again

I have the ct380 and this. The kahr is not in the same class. No comparison, the kahr is top 2 worst guns I own

If you really want a DOA the price of Kahr is cheap now around $225-$300 and they are excellent guns. Also can get good revolver for not much more.

About 2 years ago, I bought one for the wife to encourage her to come out shooting with me more. Feeding issues right out of the box. Fired about 500 rounds before putting it back in the box. About a year ago I finally got around to sending it in. SCCY has great customer service. They sent the pistol back about 3 week later. Seems to shoot fine now but I've only ran 100 rounds through since.

I bought one used for 155 on GunBroker. Took it shooting once and sold it for 200. The trigger reset is way up there and there isn't a lot of positive pressure to feel the reset. Not sure if that makes sense but that's just my 2cents

I have one of these for close to a year now with several hundred rounds through it. Only issue I've had is the known one (mentioned by others here) of the pin working itself out during a lot of shooting. Got with SCCY easily and was given the option of having them send me a differnt pin that is slightly bigger or I could put some Loctite on my existing one. That fixed it. I mentioned that one mag seemed to be not holding open occasionally and they sent me a replacement right away with a prepaid label to return the other one. Very responsive support. As to the long and hard trigger pull mentioned, I prefer it on a CC. This gun is difficult to shoot well due to the trigger nature and the very light weight, though I improved greatly after adding the grip kit you can buy for this (see Amazon.) As to the trigger, there is a kit sold if desired to lighten the pull. I believe it's primarily a replacement spring. I enjoy shooting it and can shoot 'well enough' in what is considered a CC engagement scenario, i.e., 20' or less. And I've never had a misfire with this gun. At this price (I paid about $90 more) I'd buy another if they were selling one of the other colors that I've seen. I already have the Black one.

It's a hammer fired gun. I owned one, the pin would work itself loose in mine every 20 rds or so. Have to punch it back in. The trigger is complete garbage regardless of what anyone else tells you.

Owned one about a year ago or so. Plenty of rounds down range, I will say the gun was reliable for me. No feeding or ejecting issues with federal. After cleaning every time I took the pistol out to shoot I had metal shavings galore in my slide and frame. At first I took it as it was just breaking in and wearing. Must have racked slide 1000k time manually and still, every time I broke it down for cleaning same result. Got rid of it only because of that reason. Believe it was the rails. Didn't like the thought of metal floating around in the gun if I should ever need it. Never looked to see if others had the same issue.

I only want it as a back up gun

For $169 in the end it was worth it to me. If I would have paid more I would have been pissed.

After stretching the spring and taking a small amount of metal off the hammer where it releases and tested it works great, lighter and shorter trigger pull and no light strikes.

The spring was so tight it had 12lb trigger pull and wouldn't drop the hammer, the poly trigger was spinning around the trigger bar from all the stress. Absolutely 100% should not left the factory like this.

If you are scared to work on guns I don't recommend getting this unless you don't mind spending some money and having to send it back maybe more than once.

I suspect SCCY made the CPX-3 in 380 due to cracking problems. I don't think the 380 was a bad decision because it will make a decent gun for a woman or recoil sensitive shooter but with smaller pocket 380's for me I wouldn't buy the new CPX-3.

SCCY should release another version of the CPX-2 with all the faults fixed. The long trigger pull is horrendous.

I owned one of these. Best i remember the pin in the frame would wiggle out about every 20 rds if you didn't watch it. The trigger is absolutely horrendous. Only reason I can see for buying this over a pt-111 is that it's US made. Or if you don't like striker guns.

Don't know why I would waist my time getting in this debate but what the hell. I do own glock 26 and many others but I've always wanted a sccy even before I bought the 26. Sccy feels good in the hand. Lighter weight. Less rounds though. Lifetime warranty and great costumer service from everything I've heard. Always was in the understanding that the guys that started the company used to work for glock. Believe one was one of their engineers. Buy a gun that fits your needs and what u can afford. Again only from my research sccy seems to me to b most reliable pistol in its catagory at that price point. Just my 2 cents.

I bought one, called about an issue, the rep told me there is a trigger upgrade you are eligible for. I sent it in, upgrade for free. Thats awesome! I had wanted a Glock 26, but now that I have the Sccy i dont even bother, buy one, you will not be disappointed.
