@ceratac
Great price! Just got mine after 2 day shipping. Finished building it today. I'm overall very pleased with the product. However, my BCG seems to have some sort of defect. When I drop the bolt, my charging handle stickez. It take everything in me to pull it back out. I tried swapping a new BCG I had from my other AR and if my worked flawlessly. Would be nice to get a replacement BCG. Overall very nice product for the price.

To put things in perspective, this is <1/3 the price I paid for a Bushmaster XM15... back in 1991 dollars! Stupid cheap compared to even just a few years ago. Buy'em cheap & stack'em deep, preppers! ;-)

Just put it together..shoots great for the price

It is an 80% Lower Receiver, so it is not considered a firearm until it is finished.

If you get the lower receiver, is it not a complete built? Why does it say no ffl required?

It is an 80% lower, not a complete lower.

It's an ℅80 lower

Little update to my previous posts. Had a chance to go out and fire the AR a few times. I got the tactical upgrade and I recommend you all do as well because for the small added fee it's worth it for the hand guard alone. The rifle ran great and exceed my accuracy expectations. If you're looking to buy this kit for a rifle you'll use and abuse i say go for it. At this price you could break it and not be devastated but please please don't go into this expecting a $2000 rifle.. that's like buying a hi point and expecting a sig. Be realistic with your expectations and this kit will exceed them!

I can say from experience they have A1 customer service and the product is outstanding considering the price and performance...That fact that a person can try to bash a company they haver no hands on experience with is mind blowing... makes anything posted by said user hard to take serious.

Hey Ceratac,
On the Classic Carbine Kit page, it has a drop down menu that says the Upper Assembly is on sale for $9.99. Is that just the technical upper (dust cover, forward assist) or does that include the barrel, nut, handguard, buffer spring/tube, etc (complete upper)? Thanks!

Option Assembly for the Classic Carbine Kit is $14.99 not $9.99 and has been fixed on the website. It is not the whole "Upper Assembly" for $9.99. Sorry for the confusion.

Update: I called and they offered to send me another complete trigger assembly with a return envelope for the problem parts! Really great customer service, would buy from again and recommend to anyone looking for a good budget rifle build. The tactical upgrade was worth it, upgraded charging handle is great.

I ordered two kits with tactical upgrade to build with my dad this week while he was in town on vacation. Very nice kits, had everything I needed to build both. One small issue, we have been unable to get the pin that secures the bolt catch mechanism through the hole. J spring seems to stick up in the hole too high and no amount of pressure or hammering with a punch can get it to depress so the pin can seat in the hole to complete lower assembly. I might need to see if I can get a replacement part, the other kit I ordered had no issues and was completed today.

They have very fast shipping, ordered Saturday the 16th, it shipped the 18th and arrived today (the 21st) .

Where are the components made?

1 vote

Made in the U.S.A. is where all the Core Components of this Kit are Manufactured. Receivers, Bolt Carriers, Barrels, Etc... In addition to that all our products come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

What makes up the "Etc" portion? Why not just list them all? I'm guessing you listed most of the components anyway, there's not much left...

Over 100 Pieces and Parts are used in some of our kits, hence the etc... If you have a specific question about a part just ask. Please keep in mind, that we Warranty EVERY part that comes in our kits and our response to problems is fast and professional. There is no sending your kit in and waiting months for warranty work like the big manufactures. We take customer service very seriously and we are committed to ensuring our customers are 100% satisfied with their products.

what a bullshit answer. you know damn well where your parts kits are made but just dont want to say. trigger parts, fcg are normally made in the same place so they are usually grouped together in terms of manufacturing. you trying to use the "100 pieces" like there's too many to list just so as an excuse to be vague.

Nobody is making you order this kit, and if you did I hope they cancel it. There is no need to be an asshole to anyone. What's the point in trying to bash a company. Keep your cyber bullying to yourself

We provide Quality Components at the Best Value to our customers. Of course we would love to have every part made here in the U.S.A. but it is simply not cost effective. Any implication that the Components in our Kits are somehow inferior, because not every part is manufactured here in the U.S.A., is simply Untrue. All of the Core Components in our Kits are manufactured right here in the U.S.A. We stand behind all of our products with a Limited Lifetime Warranty and Customer Service is one of the Best in the Business.

I was going to ask this question as well, Im sure many others are curious.

Also, are all parts included Mil-Spec?

Thanks. @Ceratac

Mil-Spec or better is the short answer. The long answer gets way more involved than this comment section will allow. Even the question of what is Mil-Spec is a heated subject on most online gun forums.

A great value gun build, I built one with a lower I got from Brownells and shot it last Sunday for the first time and it worked very well and I was impressed for a cheaper build kit, will buy another soon!

If you are talking about the 80% lowers then no... no ffl is needed for an 80% lower

Let's make this clear, if ordered with lower is ffl required to receive kit?

Ballinsince88 is correct. 80% Lower Receivers are not firearms so NO FFL, NO SERIAL, NO REGISTRATION.

Just received my tactical upgrade kit in the mail. Shipping was extremely fast even with the holiday so that's a plus.... my only problem is... they didn't include all the parts in the kit. Lol I'm missing components. I'm sure its an easy over sight but kind of a bummer when you're planning to assemble and get trigger time the same day. I contacted the number on the website and left a voicemail, I guess we will find out how their customer support is. But from what I can tell the quality of product seems just fine for the price paid. I have yet to assemble the kit as I figured I'll just wait untill they send the remaining part needed to complete. I will report back once it's assembled and tested.

Sorry Ballinsince88. You know what they say about excuses... We had three kits that went out less than perfect this past week. As far as we are concerned one kit is one too many. Rest assured that we've put new processes in place to ensure this doesn't happen again. We strive for perfection and sometimes we fall short. When this happen we do everything in our power to make it right.

Im interested in ordering the kit. What exactly did they leave out to keep you from assembling it?

0 votes
0 votes

The only thing keeping you from assembling the kit out of the box is the lower receiver. We sell the kit two ways. With an 80% Lower Receiver which requires finishing or without a Lower Receiver. Once you finish the 80% Lower Receiver or add your own 100% Lower Receiver to the kit then you have everything necessary to assemble your build.

What do I get for the $34.99 enhanced upgrade?

0 votes
0 votes

The Enhanced Model is an upgraded version of out Classic Series Kits 80%. On the Enhanced Model we upgraded the barrel from 4150 Phosphate to 416R Stainless Steel and the Muzzle Device from a standard A2 to our DLX 2-Hole Competition Muzzle Break.

I bought this kit as my first ar15 the lower build was very easy and I got the upper assembled. I was very excited about it until I shot it. The first 20 or so rounds cycled just fine but after that every spent case wouldn't extract. It was basically a muzzleloader because I would need to stick a rod down the barrel to get the case out. I shot steel cased and brass cased ammo same issue. I then bought a new stiffer extractor spring and I'm just waiting for it to arrive.

I Just replaced the extractor spring and everything functions perfectly.

Yeah I'm sorry I didn't get back to you, I was waiting until I got the new spring installed and got to test it out before I did. It just took me forever to get out to the range. I really appreciate you guys reaching out to me. I just got out to shooting it today and everything is perfect, a couple cases failed to extract at first but after that it was flawless. If I run into any other issues down the road I'll reach out to you.
