This makes sense on certain builds, putting an aero, psa upper etc on this makes zero sense. If you built out a bcm upper or larue, dd upper etc I think this adds value compared to an aero or psa lower

But you dont get the BCM smell with other lowers

What sets this apart from say a aero precision complete lower assembly?

i've owned, umm... several... AR pattern rifles in my life thus far. of them, i have had 2 that would not function properly from the get-go. both were cheap brands, and both were due to problems with the lower assemblies.

not saying Aero is "cheap", but there is a reason why BCM enjoys the excellent reputation it does. (not a fanboy, either, i'm a Daniel Defense owner.)

*edit* ... actually 3 that didn't function. the third was cheapo as well, and also an issue with the lower.

Not much IMHO. If you swapped just the stripped lower for a PSA or Anderson the performance will likely be the same. Your best money spent on any AR-15 is (in order of importance) the barrel, the trigger, the hand guard(free float) and the stock.

I think a BCG is more important for reliability and overall performance then a stock, rail or trigger

I've never understood overspending on the lower receiver. They're all pretty much spec'd to run fine, not you vulcan. It's really all the other parts that have significant functional changes. There's only one lower I've spent more than $50 on, and that was for a dedicated 9 build, which you're lucky to find under $150.
