Just called them and they say the item is no longer avaliable. Just another sportsman guide scam to get your money and make you fight to get it back. Like the bolt carriers they had last week for $130 and when you called them. they are back ordered till july. But they dont say that at time of purchase. They should be banned from this site.

That's weird I joined and got my money back after I couldn't get ammo I ordered, They were cool about it, and refunded my mioney super fast. I have since rejoined and put some stuff on back order. If I don't get it I know they will be glad to refund my membership again.

Help me understand where you use tracer rounds. I know I cannot shoot these at my indoor range, I can however go into the country side and shoot, but can tracer rounds possibly catch something on fire? I never buy them because I don't know. thanks

Not just Yes; but oh hell Yes... watch out for your back stop; and ricochets; although tracer burn out might be quick enough for those real high loopie ones, which you see in the night firing range vids... at Calf Ranges for FT Ord/ Camp Roberts/ Camp SLO and at Camp Parks; range SO/ OIC's often banned tracers of all kinds from March to Dec... ( the dry season in CA). We spent hours picking out tracers from 4:1 7.62 belts and .50 cal belts... ended up always ordering plain ball all the time. Regards... ( your mileage may vary, especially in green/ wet forest and grass lands of the south/ mid west and east... )

HUH?
"Dramatically increases pattern awareness... you see the sizzling trail! Clearly visible day and night"
Yeah right.... 40 year old expired tracers... that's false advertising, deceptive.

That said, it's not a bad price for 5.56 ammo these days.

If one out of a hundred of these burned it would be a miracle.

No personal experience, but I have heard from a few people that the primers often fall out in the chamber, but that the problem is hit or miss depending on the can you get.

How can the primer fall out in the chamber? That's a neat trick seeing how the primer is sandwiched between the case and bolt face.

It is absolutely possible for a primer to be loose before being fed into the chamber, and if the round does not fire (which is not unheard of with this ammo) for the primer to fall out upon extraction of the bad round.

I understand that a primer can fall out of a round. But you said that it falls out in the chamber. The primer cannot fall in the chamber. It can fall out of the cartridge when it is extracted. But it will not fall in the chamber. There is not enough room between the case and the bolt face.

It is possible and it does happen, you can hunt around ar15.com and find plenty of posts about it.

I'll reply to your per-edited post.

Bull****, a primer can aboslutely fall into the chamber. Saying it cannot tells me you do not have alot of experience with the ar platform which is ok but this in fact does and has happened."

As for experience with the AR only about 5yrs. But with the M16 I have 21yrs and fire 6000+ rounds a year. So yes I have a lot of experience with this platform. I have never I repeat never had a primer end up in the chamber. Primers have fallen out of fired rounds but never gotten into the chamber and caused a stoppage or failure to chamber the next round. No one in my shooting group has ever had this experience either. I don't know one person this has happened to. Its always "a friend of mine or someone told me" thing. So if hearsay is good enough for you run with it.
