The Leatherman MUT is the first multi-tool that functions as both a tactical and practical tool for military, LE, or civilian shooters. The MUT features multiple areas on the tool threaded for cleaning rods and brushes and all the screwdriver bits are sized for standard military and civilian sighting adjustment work. The MUT is a great tool, definitely Inspector Gadget approved, only downside is the weight & it's a bit clunky (bulk wise). If I was still active duty and deployed, the MUT would be in my kit as it has a good compliment of tools, and when far from home, having all the MUT tools is a good thing to have.
These days my MUT sits at home as the 1st time I saw a AR Multitasker series 3 while shooting at Shootersworld, I knew I had to own one.

The series 3 Multitasker in a nutshell is pretty much the only AR specific multi tool that can give a Leatherman MUT a run for it's money, due to the fact it's lighter (at the expense of less tools than the MUT) & the Multitasker Series3 has the essential tools I use on a regular basis.
The MUT comes with a nice sheath, the series 3 Multitasker comes with no sheath. (I simply use my MUT sheath for my Multitasker, if not; MUT sheaths are sold on Ebay as well for $10
Both the MUT and Multitasker series 3 are excellent products, both aren't cheap, but quality sometimes costs a premium.
If one decides to go the Multitasker series 3 route, check out Brownells before you hit the buy button, often they offer the Brownells Multitasker series 3 for $119 from time to time (but the blade has a Brownell name on it.)
I already own one that i carry everyday. These tools are great esp. if you shoot alot like me or just to have for other uses. I just ordered another one from Amozon today for the price listed (screw cheaper then dirt dont care if their cheaper in price).
I would recommend this to anyone who owns a gun esp. if you own ar's and the MUT EOD version is great if you do lots of electrical work.
Just FYI, I bought this very same MUT from Hayneedle last month for $64.99 shipped! It came in the original retail box with Molle sheath and Leatherman retail packaging.
That may be a once-in-a-lifetime deal, or maybe not, who knows...
