I agree it's a lot of money, however
If you add the $330 for a frame to that slide You are $750 ISH bucks.
Then you need a barrel and a spring.
You can barely get a Vicke'rs for $650, and NOTHING is done to the slide
People buy them to flip them and put $700 on them and THAT is not worth it.
This? Think this out

$200 buy the slide (So that means the following must be done for $223.
RMR cut done
plate made for it and tapped for mounting screws
Carry cut / melt done to the muzzle
carry cut' melt done to the top outer corners the length of the slide
the lightening hash cuts done to to the top/side
Dehone
the bad ass font cocking serrations done
Bead blast the slide
coated it in titanium gray........

Are you really saying this is a rip?
I'm usually in agreement, this time, I think your seeing ZEV and thinking "I'm not putting that kind of money into a plastic gun" And I AGREE with you.....
I'd build a 1911 before I would EVER pay for a full Zev build at $2500
However, this?

$423 Slide
$150 Trijicon HD Nights front and back
$100 for a barrel, of if I was smart I'd get and SF solutions at $200
$40 CAptured recoil spring
$330 for a Gen 4 frame complete, IF THAT

$1043 complete and maybe I'd stipple it and drop $100 on 3 Vickers controls.

I think if you want an RMR cut done and you have a black or gray glock currently, you could sell your old slide use your barrel and spring and do this and have one sweet ass banged up carry for $800, $145.00 more than the "vcikers" lol

Not a deal, Zev is overpriced and it would need to come down to $200 or less.

Haha, yeah, ok. You can't even buy an OEM stripped slide for $200, much less one that is already milled for an RMR. Plus, Zev slides are stainless steel, and have better coatings than OEM. This is a good deal.

but what does it do for the use of the firearm for it's intended purpose? not a lot not really much other than the milling for the RMR sight and tapping(which is not that difficult especially if your running a cnc) all in all it seems like a gimmick glocks factory set up goes bang every time and is as accurate as you are out of the box. Never had any issues with the factory coatings over any extended periods or the fact that the slide is not stainless.

Front cocking serrations are useful.
Some people find Glocks to be heavy, the melt and the cuts take weight away.
The cuts allow heat to dissipate
The cuts can also be used with a barrel that has been compensated.
The melt makes carry easier depending on the holster, it also make holstering easier as smooth and beveled enters holsters better than square and blocky.
So there are real advantages, but it's mostly up to the shooter what is important. Much like people replacing the factory plastic recoil spring with stainless steel, I've never had a time I got the gun so hot i was worried about the plastic one melting and pouring out the front of the gun, and tolerances do not matter on that part at all, rigidity doesn't either, not for operation. That part you can argue it's useless worth, but the other things I find to be more relevant to the intended purpose of the gun, besides, you want your glock to be worth so much you won't take it out to shoot it right?
My problem comes in when I read the words Glock and Safe queen in the same sentence.
I'll never make one that expensive. It's a Glock.......

Do you know a lot of people who run cnc's? I don't. Fact is, you couldn't get a factory slide and have it milled for just an RMR for this price. And that doesn't include all of the other milling. Does the rest of the milling add anything? Front serrations are nice to have. Windows? Not so much. That's mostly just an aesthetic thing. I personally wouldn't run windows on my slide, but I know a lot of people love them. Bottom line, if you like the look of this slide it's a great deal. If you're happy with your Glock as it is, then that's great too. They're great guns right out of the box (once you put decent sights on them). But to say the Glock goes bang every time so there's no need to do anything else to it is just stupid. A well maintained Ford Escort will get you everywhere you need to go, but I bet you'd rather drive something nicer running/looking if you can afford it.
