Im in for one ... With the recent confirmation from the ATF regarding the sig arm brace, and the fact that i already have a ton of AR mags this is gonna be a heck of a compact gun ... I dont have to buy a bunch of new mags and it uses domestically produced ammo which is good in case any more import restrictions come down. Zastava makes quality AKs and this one happens to use the heavy duty bulged front trunnion and im assuming its the 1.5mm RPK receiver ... Good deal if it runs the ammo well

Yes this AK pistol will eat any brand of ammo you feed it with no issues, it really performs well with the Russian brands. I have had one for a year now and it is a hoot to play with around the farm.

Good alternative, what with 5.45 imports held up by BATF.

If it is an AK variant, i would bet money it does. Every AK I own regardless of caliber dents the hell out of brass.

I've only shot steel out of mine, but my m92 (same gun, different caliber) doesn't beat the shells up.

Does anyone know if this beats the hell out of brass?

I own this and can say that it does dent the brass about a third of the way down from the neck. It doesn't dent it as badly as my Sig556 does, but it does dent it.

I don't, however, normally shoot brass through it. I ran a box just to see what happens as I expected it to bang up the brass. Other than that, I shoot steel through this gun. It is accurate enough to hit a 1/3 scale IPSC man target center mass at 100M with a red dot so I am happy with that.

Most of my Saiga's chew on the casings before they beg for more. I'd check Silver Bear and Golden Bear if you feel the need for similarities. I wouldn't throw brass at it until you observe the gun with steel. Grab a 1,000rnd case and a Surefire(s)-like-a-drum 60/100 rnd magazine and break a fun bone at the range! Might be a very polite thing to advise the range as well as those nearby before the smoke starts. Manners are too expensive for some folks to spend.
