Less than half the calories of regular MRE and no heater for the cost of the real deal.
Your abacus is off by $2.00. Ad says 12 meals @ $94.00 - you say $96.00 - guess your not so perfect as you think you are, and you have the gall to bash and name call others on this site? Have a Blessed Day 8-))
Per Wikipedia:
Rounding: Rounding a number means replacing it with a different number that is approximately equal to the original, but has a shorter, simpler, or more explicit representation; for example, replacing $23.4476 with $23.45, or the fraction 312/937 with 1/3, or the expression √2 with 1.414.
Again:
7.83 ~ $8 after rounding
Also, most states have sales tax with Optics Planet so this is more like $9 a meal if you factor in that.
Sorry Mr. Woo, I won’t respond with hostility like you just did but will correct you kindly that your math is off $8.00 times 12 packets = $96.00 - This sale is $94.00- Have a Blessed Day Thank You - 8-))
Problem with freeze dried food with a shelf life of 25 years or so at this time is getting it, unless you want to wait months, or other option buy the equipment to do it yourself which can get pretty pricey. That’s why people “ prepare ahead of time “
What does the shelf life have to do with your point (if you even have one)? Why is lasting 25 years a "problem?" Do you need these MRE....RIGHT NOW? If no, what are you talking about?
400-600 calories?!? A real MRE is closer to 1200-1400 calories. At $8 a piece, with no heater, this is a rip off even if it was a full serving and ignores half of the reason MRE's are still popular. Hell, just buy freeze dried food. A little water and you can eat that cold, it will taste better, and last longer....
When in in a survival situation, the first things you need to sort out are water, shelter, and watching your figure.
