Here, this will give you a good benchmark for your worries about corrosion. 2,200 rounds of CORROSIVE 7.62x39.. then left to sit for A MONTH (that had to hurt :D)

if you own a Mosin-Nagant, chances are thousands or tens of thousands of rounds of corrosive primer ammo is all it ever fired before you owned it. Its not a big deal and as long as you clean your gun within a few weeks after firing it, the salts won't be in the barrel long enough to cause any damage. Or you can always dump water down the barrel when you are done shooting if you are extra OCD. Corrosive or not, you should always clean your gun regularly. Good deal for this ammo, I've shot about 2,000 rounds of it through my Nagant. Works great and it's so cheap, why buy anything else? The Nagant is so cheap, even if you NEVER clean it after firing nothing but corrosive ammo, buy a new one for $90 after the years it will take for the corrosion to build up enough to damage the barrel... say every 5 years or so depending on how humid the environment you live in is. Here in Phoenix, there is very little humidity, so it would take decades for the corrosion to damage the barrel if the gun was never cleaned.
