Are these any good?

I own one for almost 6 months. It is a very accurate rifle. The 20' fluted barrel and once you add on a optic and a full 30rd mag it is pretty heavy. I use it for outdoor shooting usually in a prone or bench shooting.

I wouldn't guess it's anything you'd want to go to war with or lug around for extended periods of time..

With that heavy barrel and optics added I bet it'd be close to 10lb rifle. Too heavy for me, not for .223

Looks like something to post out all night in a tent or barn and hunt coyote with.

I like the light stuff myself, but if I was ever hunting game my instinct would be to choose a bolt rifle.

That's just me though, everyone has their own preference.

It's nice, and Windham is solid stuff. ...just not a huge fan of anything over 16" for a barrel. The 18" and 20" aren't going to give you a noticeable increase in velocity, for the added weight. This looks like something put together with left over parts. Good parts, but little if any gain in a 20" barrel IMO.

For what? What will you be using it for most of the time?

Target and small game. I have a Tikka T3 Tactical in .223 that can't be beat. The bolt gun. With the can on it very quite. I hunt large game, but like to just shoot. I just love guns. Buy them in the winter and shoot them all summer.

See above.....I just don't see any advantage to a longer barrel. It's barrel quality that increases accuracy, and not length. That said, I'd swap out this stock, and use a goodUBR or something. Throw a nice scope on it.

Its got good parts. (Bolt, Barrel) With shortages right now it's not bad, considering what you would have to spend to get a little better. I have had success with the Rainier Arms Select match and Match barrels.

If you already have an AR----maybe just build a nice long range upper to throw on the gun. you could do that for about $600.
