Description
The XPR is a rugged, reliable and precise bolt-action rifle built for the next generation of Winchester hunters. Combining proven concepts from the Model 70 with more efficient manufacturing processes means that the XPR is a superb hunting rifle at a more affordable price. The advanced polymer stock is built for superior grip in wet conditions and will stand up to scratches and bumps and the matte blued finish is tough and non-reflective. Its receiver is drilled and tapped for beefy 8-40 screws. The XPR has a detachable box magazine, Inflex Technology recoil pad, M.O.A. trigger system, bolt unlock button, and a nickel teflon coated bolt.

It doesn't seem like a trigger/safety issue would be at fault for this. Some type of catastrophic failure with the bolt. The guy is definitely lucky to be alive.
I don't think the earlier recall was a factor either. If the failure had happened with a factory round instead of one of his reloads I think he'd have a much easier court case.
I saw a thread where the bolt on one of these blew straight back and through a gents face. Any safety recall or anything since then? I believe was posted in jan 2022.
