Description

The PPQ M1 features the classic paddle-style magazine release. The styling is elegant and trim with a sculpted grip that meshes smoothly into the hand. The 'Quick Defense' trigger works in conjunction with a fully pre-loaded striker assembly. Because the firearm is in a constant cocked state, the striker does not protrude from the back of the slide. The frame has interchangeable backstraps and a Picatinny Mil-Spec rail. It has low profile, 3-dot sights with a windage adjustable rear. The PPQ M1 is available in limited quantities.

I want 2. Lol!

I'd buy it with a $100 rebate, but not for this price.

Exactly, just wait for the next round of rebate unless you need this gun ASAP. This is a $400 piece, not $500 piece by any means.

I honestly doubt we'll see rebates this year. last year was a result of the firearms industry gearing up for a Hillary win and expecting to sell BOAT LOADS of guns. When that didn't happen they had to liquidate inventory. Now we have more gun scares and the inventory has been liquidated so expect prices to rise and no mas rebates

Wait a minute, as a Killer don’t you throw away the gun after using it on your victim?

Good thing that there aren't any rebates at this time...I am way too broke!!! Still dreaming of getting one some day!

Got this in 3 days from GunBuyer. What a great deal. $379 after rebate. Gun looks and feels high-quality. I'm surprised how good the grip is - with large hands I thought it would be too small. I still may get the 17rd magazine for it that will give it a little extra pinky grip though.

I placed my order today from the good folks at Gunbuyer and should have in a few days. My question is where can I find some cheap magazines for this PPQ?

Thank you,
Jim

cheap and german magazines don't go well together. cheapest I've seen is about $37 at gunmagwarehouse

Actually I meant affordable and not cheap. Thanks for your reply.

Fantastic pistol. Period. Incredibly accurate and the best out-of-the-box trigger on the market. The trigger is so good, in fact, it's still better than my $150 apex in my Glock. To DAM1R - you won't need a trigger. It will stack right up against the wall with a very, very clean break. Spend money on ammo and shoot it. Don't know why the stupid site is forcing 3 stars. No option to change it. 5 star pistol all the way.

Why! Why!! Why!! I just bought 2 guns.. now I see this with a $100 rebate! I regretted selling my PPQ.. guess I need to sell a gun again. Dammit

I have ordered two guns from GUNBUYER, including another PPQ M1 just last week, and it arrived 4 days after it was purchased. So, no issue there. I will use the $100 for an APEX trigger or night sights likely.

*sigh, how about you check out the evidence for yourself. 40+ page sticky on the official Walther forums about it + multiple other threads on it too.

http://www.waltherforums.com/forum/ppq/48052-ppq-m2-45-pitted-barrel-walthers-response-shouldn-t-cause-issues.html...

It's something to watch out for as it's not something that has been addressed to anyone's knowledge in the mfgering process and you STILL can get one of the bad ones (last reported bad barrel was about a month ago since it takes time to manifest)

be careful with these. Walther has an ongoing issue with barrels pitting after a few hundred to a 1000 rounds that hasn't been fixed for over a year. there's a 40+ page discussion of it over on the waltherforums.

That's not even an issue. You found 40 page discussion on a very tiny fraction of a problem on one maybe two guns. You're overblowing this like it's an issue. It's not.

Walther should have named the PPQ the PGS (proving Glock's Suck)

I've really wanted one of these, but I have become intrigued with the P10c for the lower bore axis and price. Not that I could pick one up before 2019! I just have to remember that I am not married to it and could always sell it on Armslist and at this price not take a loss...

For me, this gun is that "Perfect Fit" all shooters hope to find. On rare occasion, while cycling thru hundreds of purchases we are lucky enough to stumble upon that hat, pair of shoes or boots, beer, dog, truck, fishing reel, or gun that is that "Perfect Fit. I'll be 70 before long. I've only found two guns that fall into that category, and both were by accident. The first was a few years ago when my son asked me to find him a light, fast 20ga field gun for under $450. I own several very nice 20ga and told him he could have his pick. He declined and said he wanted a gun he could ding up without feeling bad. Since this request was below the price range I usually consider, I did several days of research before I ordered a Weatherby SA-08 Synthetic. It seemed to be a nice gun, but no big deal until I fired a couple rounds. WOW!, I had found my "Perfect Fit". This past October GunBuyer ran these for $449. I had spent close to a year trying to decide between a PPQ Mod2, HK VP9 or a Glock Gen4. This was outside my bubble of consideration, but a hell of a deal, so I ordered it. As with the Weatherby it was no big deal until I shot it, and WOW!, JACKPOT! If you buy this gun the least you will get is one of the best 9mm in the world. The point of my narrative is I hope you will keep looking, researching, shopping, and buying until you get lucky and find your "Perfect Fit".

Good comment bud. I'm with you on this one I have the match 5, it just fits and the trigger is well WOW. I would say my Fav is the CZ 75b but I shoot much better with the PPQ.

Thank you for your kind comment. Good weather has allowed me to go to the range several times since I posted my review. Each trip has been a total joy, and it is still my "Perfect Fit".

Sweated over this or the M2 5 inch. Ended up going with the M1, ~justforthehelluvit~,,,,,,, and for the paddles. LOL!
The 80 I saved over the 5 inch will go towards some Dawson sights.

don't forget the M1 can take P99 magazines since they use the same paddle release. The P99 has been around for almost 20 years and magazines are much more plentiful than PPQ M2 mags

Yes Sir!
I grabbed (2) New P99 mags on closeout for 9 bucks each. Work like a charm in my M1 Q !!!!

Just an FYI, Buds has had this for $469 on a couple of occasions over the last month or so... Keep an eye out if your not in a hurry...

Do you happen to remember how often that has happened? I'm looking now and it's up to 529....I've been wanting one for a while to compare with my VP9 and would probably jump at 469

About two weeks ago was the last time.

They are exactly the same gun except for the mag release.

The m1 can use the p99 magazines, but the m2 can use the canik tp9 18 round magazines. ....which run under $25 on most sites. So there are affordable mags for both guns out there. Hope this helps make it easier for someone to make a choice on one of these awesome guns.

That is essentially it. At least as far as the non-discrinating, non-Waltherist is concerned. Get the M1 while you can. Rumor is they were brought back in early 2014, but the M2 is still crushing it in sales. Walther has decided to move away from this (not all their own doing). You can see evidence of this in the newest edition pistols;

PPX, CCP, PPQ (long slide), PPQ 22, PPQ 45 and PPS M2....all six have the button mag release.

Hmmm, and where do you think hk got the inspiration from? PPQ: Released 2010
VP9: Released 2014

Your hk looks like the PPQ.

Just not as good of a trigger( no hate for HK just fact)

PPQ has the push button, H&K has the paddle mag. release. H&K is a little heavier and a tad longer. Great feel over the PPQ unless you want a slightly smaller gun. I am talking about the 40, by the way. I really like the slide release on the right. Pretty cool looking. The trigger is about the same for both, some of the best for striker. I love the feel of the H&K.

Besides the mag release, anyone know the difference between M1 and M2 version?

nothing

Fair enough, but also take this into consideration. The m1 can use p99 mags, which I have an easier time finding, and the m2 doesn't.

The PPQ sure is a nice-looking pistol. It reminds me a lot of an H&K P30.

Hands down, best gun I've ever bought, oh and I paid $568 for mine a year ago, from this same retailer.

If you want a PPQ, buy the M1. The mag release on the M2 is huge and very easy to accidentally hit while firing your weapon. Trust me.

The mag will pop out like it has a spring.

I have an M2 model of the PPQ, and I find the mag release to be in a great position with my own grip and hands. In this case, If you're considering this gun, it's best to hold one before you buy, and see how it settles in your grip and whether the mag release is a problem or not. Your mileage may vary.
