Description

The PPK/S .22 blends the iconic PPK design with the fun and cost savings of the .22 LR The PPK/S .22 is identical to its PPK/S 380 brother, but you can shoot 22LR rimfire ammo for pennies a shot and recoil is minimal. PPK/S is the 1968 "Sport" version with longer grip, based on the legendary 1931 design. The top strap is cut with a wave to reduce glare and rear slide serrations make for non-slip grip and classic Walther styling. The internal slide stop reduces external snags. It has fixed steel sights and classic Walther checkered grip panels. The double action trigger of the PPK/S 22 has a 17.5 lb. pull while the single action has a 6.6 lb. pull. The beaver tail and magazine finger extensions improve shooting comfort, and threaded barrel comes standard. The PPK/S .22 is great for the whole family, a quality firearm to someday pass it on to the next generation. High Gloss Nickel Finish.

17.5# what now???

I just bought one but not from Classic. Its stamped made in Germany. Fun little plinker. To my knowledge they (the frame) are made from Zinc Alloy but its a 22 so it doesn't really matter and it makes it very affordable.

Looking other places it looks like this is not stainless steel. The frame is some zinc alloy. Stainless Zinc.

I don't know for sure, but I have looked at pictures of this elsewhere. It says on the slide that it is made in Ulm. This would indicate that its actually made by Walther.

Nickel or Stainless? Walther website shows this model number as Stainless...

Normally I'd trust the manufacturer's website but the stainless steel version of the .22LR PPK/S was discontinued long ago. When Walther reintroduced the gun it was in a more budget friendly version manufactured by Umarex in a cheaper zinc alloy, which I'm almost positive is the gun listed in this ad. For $249.99 this is a pretty good deal but it is already OOS. If you have to have a stainless steel version then look at the used market and expect to pay more.

The Umarex gun gets a lot of good reviews but there are some who flat out hate zinc alloy on even a .22LR. IMHO, that's just ignorance or snobbery talking since zinc alloy is plenty strong for .22lr and should stand up to a lifetime of plinking. Plus it keeps the price down for those of us who are on a budget.

There have been lots of rumors about a PPK/S .22LR in stainless steel but only rumors. Such a gun would probably be too expensive to sell well which is why we don't see one on the market.

Is this all Walther, or a crappy Umarex licensed copy with a cast pot metal slide and spray paint finish (like the Sig 1911/22 I bought years ago, and cleaning solution took the finish off)?
