Description

The .22 rimfire handgun will never look the same. The P22 changed everything. Walther adapted the tactical styling and Performance Design concepts from it's centerfire handguns and applied them to the .22 L.R. This created a new movement in the design of contemporary rimfire handguns … and an explosion of imitators. As a stylish, fun gun to own, the P22 is at home on the shooting range, around the camp or in a museum of modern art.

I wanted to but the Walther 416- ar-rifle 22 lr . but it comes with a telescopic stock and i need a fixed stock. called and emailed walther if they can make a fixed stock version. the email back that we are not going to change the way we make the rifle because some states have stupid laws. we are only going to supply to the states that don't have stupid laws great customer service . Iwould not by a walther gun if it was $50.00 . i told them im glad i never bought the wather P-22 hand gun last year. i would never buy a walther product just because of the response i got back . could of said we will see about that or maybe in the future you could buy the fixed stock .but come stair out and say the hell with your state we will make guns for other states. Ruger and Smith &Wesson make compliant guns for states that have restrictions and ill give my money to them

At least they told you the truth. I find it a bit silly that you'd prefer that they lie to you.

This is a really cool little gun. I put a walther laser on the front, and it's really fun and easy to shoot. The wife likes to use this gun when we go shooting. I also paid about $100 more at the time, so $199 is a great deal.

Thanks for mentioning this. Do you ever get jams from this 22 pistol, or are any certain types of .22 ammo work better?

I've tried every type of 22lr ammo that my local walmarts stocked before the ammo scare. All had issues in my P22, all but one, remington Golden bullets. Even cci had plenty of failures. Ive shot several hundred rounds of rem.gb with no issues that if i had to carry this gun, as long as i had rem.bg, no problem.

I've had a P22 since '07. Originally bought it to begin my boy on as it was light, and had 'normal' SA pistol ergonomics (as opposed to my Ruger MKII) and was a good fit for his little hands. It doesn't get much use anymore, but during its time it was a reliable little pistol. Didn't require anything special to run properly. Even ran fine on Rem GBs.

As far as function, the DA trigger is horrendous (defintely not small person friendly), but the SA trigger is fine. The magazine release is not push-button, but rather the trigger guard lever type. Fine if you are used to that type, but not really what I wanted my son to learn on (and it is a bit of a PITA to use since it is very small).

Overall it is okay. If I was buying today, however, I'd probably look at a S&W M&P22 Compact if buying for small hands. Otherwise, go for a full-size M&P22. That is what we transitioned to a few years back once his hands were large enough and the M&P22 has been a real workhorse. Love that gun.

For now it sits in the safe, waiting for the next generation of little hands to come along :D

You can't go wrong with the Ruger SR22 which will feed just about any type of 22lr unlike some other 22 pistols. Its light, rugged and reliable, its a Ruger.

good deal but I would advise to buy the Ruger SR22 for the same price, works flawlessly with any ammo
