Saw a video comparing the Colt to the S&W MP and although the Colt looks like an AR 15, the receivers on the Smith is actually more AR like. Similar bcg, fcg etc. Not sure about the HK.

I wanted to get one of these rifles back in 2013 . but my state has to be a fixed stock, 10 round magazine . not that hard to make . emailed Wather what a response i got back. they said they do not have any plans to change the rifle because some states have stupid laws. we are going to stick with the other states. that is what kind of company this is. I emailed back and said i will not buy any gun you make even if it is legal here in my state. glad i did not buy that Wather p 22 in april 2014.that had to be the worse response i got from a company wanting to buy their product. Smith&Wesson make a compliant rifle for every one if their states have different laws. Ruger is next to make this AR rifle in 22 lr they make the 223-556 version.

"Not that hard to make". Go make one yourself. Or get a congressman on the phone or send a letter to get your shit laws changed, which is the better alternative instead of crying.

I'm sure the cost of production would increase because of the crazy mandates of a few states and their idiotic demands on the manufacturers. I have no sympathy for anyone who lives in an area who has 'neutered' their gun ownership and 2nd amendment rights.

Sometimes you have to stick to your guns. I applaude them for telling you the truth and not stringing you along.

Well the $200 rebate doesn't apply to this since umarex makes these rifles. So, I am not sure why it's listed under deal info?

...because it's the cheapest place to buy one.

Any buyer looking for a well made accurate .22 rifle this is it. I've had mines for over 3 years and absolutely love it.
The SW 15-22 feels like a toy when you pick it up compared to the H&K
This is a Great Buy

um for $350 I would darn hope so, the S&W opens like an a.r. which is a huge plus for me for cleaning etc. 10/22's are $199 and have lots of steel in them so I don't understand the marketing strategy of these expensive 22's can't imagine they sell many or there's a huge market for them but to each their own.

This or the HK MP5 .22LR replica?

The mp15-22 has a lot of plastic parts hk is all metal its a much steardier build. The down side is much heavier than the mp I have both and both are great guns the hk has the 22 internal parts welded to the inside so it can't be stripped for an ar15 parts kit also mags between the 2are not interchangeable

I'm a big fan of my SW 15-22, but this looks sweet! I suppose having more than 1 22lr ar is silly but....

Please correct me if I'm wrong, is it true that the ammo for 22LR are pretty much the same as the 22s for revolver? I want to buy one and since it's going to be my first one I wanna make sure what I'm getting!

it takes a 22 long rifle round, some pistols will accept a 22 short or a sub sonic 22 which in some cases isn't enough to trigger the semi auto action.

So on your opinion would it be a good acquisition? this would be my first LR

personally, I would get the s&w mp 15-22 or a ruger 10/22, look up some youtube videos and check them out.

So here is a question that I've had for a while but not really researched:

How many parts on this rifle are interchangeable with a standard AR? for instance, is the lower receiver the same dims as a normal AR receiver? I've always wondered why people don't just buy one of these and change whatever parts are necessary to build a full AR.

you can replace an ar15 upper to shoot 22's (and other calibers) but you can't replace the 22 upper to shoot 223. The m&p 15-22 comes apart like an ar15 but the lower parts are only built for 22's

Quad rail made of aluminum or plastic do anyone had it? Thanks

The rail is made of aluminum, same as the upper and the lower. This is a really good deal since I paid $479 for mine last year.

" The deal doesn't expire until 1pm eastern Thursday 8/21."

When I first saw this deal it had an hours/minutes/seconds left on deal timer. Now it has re-appeared in a email from CDNN to me today with no listed end of deal that I can find.

Would it be CA legal with a 10rd mag?

0 votes
0 votes

Yes as long as its under ten rounds. @Ndependencetracer, rimfire do not need a button, only centerfire rifles or carbines

0 votes
0 votes

Probably would need a bullet button, standard AR button might not work being the gun isn't built like a true AR.

Should be.

This thing feels like a "real" AR. It is the "real deal" as far as .22 rimfire AR style rifles IMHO.

anyone seen one of these in person? does it have the plastic upper/plastic charging handle, etc that seem to plague all the common ar pattern 22 lr's ? I'm going to look for this item at the next gun show, see if I can find one and see for myself.

I have one and the fit and finish is very nice. I paid the same price shipped from Dean's Gun Shop about 5-6 months ago. Everything is metal except the furniture. The only minor detail is that the 30 round mags are gray instead of black since they interchange with the Colt/Umarex M4. Walther stopped making the 30 round black mags a while ago.

No, it' all metal/aluminum including the charging handle. I have one and it's good as it gets. Only plastic parts are the pistol grip and buttstock. This is made by Umarex and you can use the Colt/Umarex 22 Magazines.
