Description

Trigger Mechanism: Traditional Double Action with an Anti-Stress Mode. As the first pistol equipped with a firing pin lock, the P99 AS combines the advantages of the traditional Double Action System with Single Action Anti-Stress trigger. The P99 provides the shooter with a user-friendliness previously found only in hammer fired pistols.Traditional Double Action - The anti-stress trigger makes the P99 one of the world's safest firearms by preventing unintentional "reflex" firing in stressful situations. The decisive innovation: When the slide is racked completely to the rear upon loading, the trigger remains in the forward position for the first shot; not only in the double action trigger mode, but also in the single action mode. The trigger travel is .551" long in the anti-stress mode (at 4.4 lbs. trigger force), preventing inadvertent firing. On all subsequent shots, the trigger travel is reduced to .314" (at the same trigger force) and this permits firing in rapid sequence, due to the quick reset of the P99 trigger. The P99 AS is equipped with a decocking button to safely decock the striker. It acts as an automatic safety and is integrated directly into the slide to prevent snagging on clothing even if the gun is drawn quickly.

Wow I didn’t know Walther still made this pistol that’s now two generations out of date.

And still the culmination of their polymer handguns.

The Walther P99 is a fine pistol, and the AS trigger was always the finest configuration. The aesthetic changes that were made to the slide and frame took this from a very pleasing looking gun to Hi-Point-tier hideous, however.

As far as Bud's is concerned, I would exercise the utmost caution in dealing with them. I once placed an order for case of ammunition. When I checked back the following day, the item had been silently changed to a 500 rd. qty, with the price unchanged. Bud's admitted the item had been changed, but absolved themselves of any responsibility to inform buyers, honor the advertised deal, cancel orders, etc.

I've been buying from buds for years always got great deals from them even during the panic of 2013 but even better is the P99. IMHO it's the best striker fired trigger on the Market today and at less than $500 it's a steal.

I don't buy from Bud's because they will raise there prices faster than a nano-second at any hint of a gun panic, they are the same as Cheaper than dirt, a lot of other companies like Palmetto State, Midway USA, Aim surplus, PKfirearms did not raise there prices to ridiculous levels during the panic and I appreciate that and do business with them and NEVER! again with Bud's or 44MAG.com, they are both dead to me.

Good price ($488) for this, not sure about Buds though. So many Buds haters out there, not sure why. Used them once back in 2010 and it went fine.

I like this and shoot it better than my PPQ.
