The Strike Eagle riflescopes offer even more features in an updated body, making them ideal for value-minded shooters who need an optic that looks as good as it shoots. A true 1x on the low end adapts to a wide range of scenarios letting shooters rapidly engage targets from point-blank to extended ranges. To maximize that versatility, you get a glass-etched, illuminated AR-BDC3 reticle, which aids in rapid shooting at near and far distances while providing holdover and ranging references from 0-650 yards. Plus, a thread-in throw lever helps you to set your magnification even faster, shot after shot.

  • This is hands down one of the best Budget LPVOs on the market. Good glass, 110ft of FOV at 100 yards, 17oz, great reticle, daylight bright illumination, and has taken all of the abuse that I have thrown at it. I have I have used it for 1000s of rounds of 5.56, close to 1000 rounds of .308, and some 7.62x39. The reticle is one of my favorites, very fast up close with the halfish horseshoe of death with a precise center dot and a simple BDC with wind holds out to 600 yards with a ranging feature for human sized targets. The BDC lines up good enough for first round impacts at 550 yards with 77graim SMK out of my 18.5" ACR and 16" AR15. Eye-box is very forgiving on 1x but does tighten up on its way to 8x, the turrets aren't great but they are set and forget so you don't have to use them very much at all. The added gen 2 throw lever is also quite nice, I applied some thread locker to it before installation and it hasn't moved since. Overall if you can find it with a mount for under $400 it's probably the best optic in that range.

Everything is made in China. Half the American made shit is made with Chinese material. I've worked in way too many factories to have much faith in anything with the lawyer-created terms like "made in America" on it.
Hell, the US military issued survival kits are "made in America" but if you look the factory address up, it's a small building with a big skid loader and a pile of shipping containers behind it. We got sold out by the boomer generation.

Bought this scope and I must say as others have, the eye box is tiiiight. I had the 1-6x so I know this 1-8x is even less forgiving. The reticle was nice and an improvement from ones such as PA’s ACSS offering in their 1-6/8 options. The illumination is definitely not daylight bright. The throw lever does come unscrewed often with use so some loc-tite might be in order. I did return the scope though, as it was not forgiving enough on the eye box. Also, anything other than outdoors in in a pure sunlit day lack of clarity of the glass becomes rather obvious. It is by no means bad, but you will certainly see it a few shades dingier in anything but a clear day. Indoors at 1x is dark.

I own the 1-8 Gen 2, it works great. Very easy to use and get on target quickly. Ignore Ty1998. It’s a fine scope with more than acceptable eye relief and FOV. If you have to return it because YOU didn’t like it, than YOU are the problem

Also, the 1-8 Is PLENTY bight on its max illumination setting. Works great outside, even with the sun in your face. Again, great optic, ignore the bad advice by Ty1998, he must have looked at hus 1-6 for all of 5 minutes before he got daddy to return it for that chinese swamp fox scope that he loves so much.

So, would you say the 1-6 is as good or better option? I've been wanting a 1-? scope for a while and just haven't found the right deal.

Better than the 1-8? I honestly did not try the 1-8 gen 2 yet, but the gen 1, 1-8 was not better in a multitude of ways if that is any indicator.

Your budget and application are what really are the deciding factors. Swamp Fox is gaining some traction in the market lately and on youtube their offerings look decent. But PA, Burris and Bushnell have some great competitive options to the 1-6/8 SEs.

The thing to keep in mind with these budget optics is they are going to be near equal in many regards. Clarity, contrast, turret tracking and durability are never going to be driving factors like they are on high end $2000-$7000 optics, so don’t worry yourself with those details. Focus primarily on the reticle you like and can implement well, repeatedly and you will find yourself very pleased with your scope of choice.

If you were asking for suggestions; I can certainly make some at varying price points between $150-$1900. What do you want to spend? What is your primary and secondary use for the gun it will be riding on?

I used the WC3 coupon with a filler last week and it worked good. The only downside I found out is that I assumed the mount was a Vortex mount like the PSA deal. I came to find out it’s a Brownells one. I’m sure it’s decent quality but I prefer everything being the same brand. I’m not a fan of PSA but I would have preferred their deal at 349. Now PSA has it for 415 plus taxes and shipping (closer to 450 which isn’t worth it for me). Just a heads up for anyone that’s on the fence.

If it makes you feel any better, the Vortex mount is a boat anchor - it weighs a ton compared to the Aero. I have one I have never used. The mount is better suited for a full size scope on a bench gun. How do like the Brownell scope mount?

If you add an inexpensive filler item to get your total over 400.00 you can use the coupon code WC3 and get 40 off of your purchase instead of only 20. That would bring this down to 364.94. Just thought I'd help someone save more money :)

This was $349 from PSA last week. I'd wait for a sale at this price. I got mine from PSA last week, ordered on Friday and it's arriving today.
