Good hunting gets better with quality optics. That's how Vortex looks at it. And the Diamondback series reflects it, giving you the performance needed to get the trophy even in the worst hunting conditions. Starting with their lenses, Vortex uses quality glass and full multicoatings for a solid 91% light transmission. Precise adjustments are quick and easy on the Diamondback, thanks to pop up dials that adjust in audible 1/4 MOA increments for fast and precise adjustments. And, with the fine machining of the metal on metal dials, accuracy can be counted on for years. This scope's toughness starts with its one-piece aircraft-grade aluminum tube construction. Argon gas purging gives it waterproof and fogproof performance for years and protection against corrosion. Easy to use fast focus eyepiece. Black finish. Manufacturer's lifetime warranty.

I am not a big fan of BPS but I bought one 2 weeks ago with free 2nd Day Delivery for $149. No problems or tricks at all, very smooth transaction actually.

3.5-10×50 with V-plex reticle is in fact 149.

Just looked at it again, it is $249 for what is in the title of this listing claiming $149. 3.5-10 x 50. I followed the link above. It is the BDC that is offered. Their link is misleading, I suspect intentionally.

I can't quite figure out the why Vortex is so popular. I have two and neither one has glass even as good as Nikon's Pro-staff line, which is cheaper than these.

Hi, the poster said he wants to punch paper and target shoot. The bdc reticle, greater magnification, and ao are a better choice for that application.

Could you post the link from eBay for me? I’m looking for another and have found the diamondbacks without the bdc reticle and the ao for that price range but not the ones with.

This 50mm objective lens is noticeably brighter than those 4-12x40 Diamondbacks that were on sale. Its the better choice for a dusk deer gun.

Cabelas clearanced out vortex diamondback 4-12x40’s with ao and a bdc reticle a little while ago. They are all over amazon for the same price. Cabelas canceled my order as usual but I was able to pick one up for $145 with free shipping.

They've sold out of these scopes a few times for the past few years. I bought the Viper 4-16x44 LR and they haven't made that scope for a couple years. Cabela's sold out of them last year at Christmas and they've got them again this year. I think there's warehouses full and they use them as a lure at sale times.

Oh ETA: I bought the Diamondback 4-12x30 on Ebay for $133 last week.

Cabela’s likes to play games this time of year and call it an “inventory management issue”.

Is this a good scope for AR10 target shooting rifle?
I've seen mixed reviews on this scope and not sure whether it's a good deal or not.

You may want to decide which reticle you'd like also. I dont like the Vplex because it's too thick: hides things at distance. But I'm also seriously considering the Vortex brand!

Meh, personally I would opt for greater maginification on a 308. Im just assuming youd want to reach out a little further past 200 yards or so and the 10x I bet would leave you wanting more.

on my 308 I like to run 6-18x44.

My $.02!
