And people praised vortex last year so I thought they are the number one in market. Turns out that they are just popular for life time warranty which most of sellers offer nowadays
Return it. Vortex warranty takes too long. Simple binocular adjustment took almost 3 weeks. Purchased less than a year.
Send it to Vortex if you think it is. They have their awesome warranty.
Ordered one. Actually need one for a CVA muzzleloader. Glad I saw this. Was gonna bite on a crappy Centerpoint or Barska.
Would this at all be useful on an AR platform rifle, or 22LR? I see that the parallax is 100 yards. I'm just thinking it would be similar to using a red dot without the night time advantage.
all This adds is bulk to an ar platform.
For the price go ahead and try it! I ‘m mounting mine on a 22LR just for plinking around
$30 + $10 for shipping great plinking scope! Good value
These are dropping in price because states (like Utah) are starting to allow magnified optics., so these are becoming obsolete. I'm just thinking that if I did buy one, SD would start allowing magnification.
Wrong, these are not magnified. Also, the price doesn't drop because of increased demand. They are being discontinued because most people don't want an unmagnified optic, black powder or not. These are great optics and work very well.
You need to re-read his post. He obviously knows they aren't magnified.
You are correct, I was misreading the whole thing.
I use non-magnified optics for close clangin' now that I'm retired and dynamic entry stuff is all stories for beer & burger night. But it sure sounds strange going without magnification at distance. The objective is so small I don't even see any potential for light gathering. Can you enlighten an old timey cop on the point of this optic?
The purpose of this optic is for use in states that have hunting laws that disallow magnified optics for muzzle loader hunting.
good scope for the money and great reviews on youtube..
Just got mine delivered. Made in China. I thought Vortex was a reputable brand? Pfft. Whatever, $30 lol.
Update:
Got it installed and trying to zero in with a laser boresighter. Neither the windage nor the elevation knobs are moving the crosshair. Defective???
