I have one of these on a .30cal build. I also have a PST Gen 2 1-6 and a PST Gen 1 1-4 on two 5.56 builds.

While the PST's are a finer optic by far, the eye box and eye relief are superior on the Crossfire than the PST's . FOV at 1x is better on the Crossfire, at least to my eyes.

Not a bad 1-4 optic on the cheap. Got mine before Christmas 2016 in store at Cabela's for $79.99 OTD.

Got mine a couple days ago and just sighted it in today. Very good for the money. I have yet to have been unimpressed by vortex optics. Eye relief is forgiving for quick drills and getting on target quick

Not impressed. Terrible focus adjustment, most difficult as soon as you throw any zoom in. Hard enough trying to get to the zoom and focus rings, they are pretty lame. I have seem much better results with other brands for similar or less money. Don't get tricked by the warranty you will probably never use. I see mine going back.

I now have this scope on a couple of ar's with the aero precision mount. It is a perfect combo for me. IIRC the mount is part number 210200. Bought this scope last year and it suited my needs very well. I was pleased to see this discontinued model show back up even at $119 & ordered 2 more. As noted they dropped it back to $99. I called CS, guy said there is nothing we can do after 7 days. I asked him to check with a supervisor and see if they would rather I return and reorder or just give me a $40 credit? My $40 gift certificate arrived yesterday.
I give cabelas CS a thumbs up as well as the scope in question.
FWIW- I have other, higher priced 1-4x24 scopes

I bought the scope, low Vortex rings, and an ammo can. That got me just over $150 which allowed me to use a $20 off and free shipping code. I then paid with Cabela gift cards I bought recently at 20% off. So I got the above items for a total delivered cost of about $105. The scope is not as good as my Burris MTac scopes I have on several of my AR15's. But at a quarter of the price this was a very good deal. I mounted it on a converted Saiga and it worked out great. Very happy with the deal.

Please elaborate. I've been watching this deal and haven't yet jumped in. Why were you dissatisfied?

The weight it's chunky without the mount, the 1x setting is easy to find a proper eye relief the 4x you have a just the right spot more like a high powered scope. To each is own.

Changed my mind on this. I thought it was illuminated but it isn't. The one sold on Amazon for $210 is a different Vortex model with illumination, so I guess the original price at Cabela is overpriced in this sense.

Just got this in. Two observations so far:

1.) The lowest setting is just a tiny bit more than 1 power. Both eyes open is totally doable, but feels a little like wearing someone else's prescription glasses.

2.) Parallax at close range is pretty ridiculous, so hopefully I'll be able to adjust it down in some way, or it is going back.

The code is one-time redeemable. But thanks for trying to help anyway.

Has anybody adjusted the parallax down on this scope? I'm thinking 50 yd parallax would be much better for my use (25-70 yd range most of the time).

FYI optics planet has 2-7 for $10 more. I thought this was the Vbrite and got excited as this would have been smoking deal. Still a great scope just not the deal l was hoping for. I should have jumped on hi lux 1-4 CMR for $210 on Amazon last week but waited to long:(. Just got my new PWS Mk 1 mod 2 and need something decent but can't make up my mind. Any suggestions out there? Gonna throw an eotech on it for now.

In for one. Got my rifle, ammo & mag collection in good order. Decided it was time to start working on my optics; between this deal & the Primary Arms deal posted yesterday I'm off & rolling.

I've been waiting for this one to come back around for 12mo. Even if they went up $20.
Hope my order is processed.

Cabelas canceled my order without notifying me. Did they do this to anyone else? Guessing they didn't mean to put it on the sale they did, or didn't want to honor the price on a backorder basis. Either way, very poor business

I have the Cf2 3x9 version of this and the actual dot is perfect, very crisp clear HD. The focus is fine 3-6 so I'm sure this is a great value and warranty.
As a second choice the Burris 1-4 LRS is excellent and I have 2 now. You can find them used in the low 200s and have the Burris warranty.

Very happy with mine. Very clean, solid feel. I really wanted to be able to adjust the zoom for various types of plinking. Sighted her in in 3 shots on a 1 piece mount and had a great time the rest of the day. Drove around in the truck bumped it around a little intentionally still held zero.

Want a really nice 1-4?

http://swfa.com/SWFA-SS-1-4x24-Tactical-30mm-Riflescope-P78365.aspx...

I've never seen a better 1-4x second focal-plane scope. Well worth the $400, although waiting for a deal might be a good idea.

Or get a 1-4 Leupold, or a 1-4 Nightforce. The Vortex is very good at $99. In fact I don't think there's anything within $50-$75 that is close.

I have zero need for these because all of the scopes on my ARs are actual military scopes. However this will make a great eventual scope for my son when he gets a rifle.

Is the SWFA SFP 1-4x that good? I've been mulling between the scope you are talking about and the Primary Arms 1-6x ACSS. Primary purpose would be 3gun, so looking for one that works good for hosing at 1x and then zoom in for longer shots when necessary.

My assumption at this point is that the SWFA is probably the better scope, but that is reflected in the price...maybe there will be a July 4th sale that puts this baby to bed ;)

I have the V2 primary arms 1-6 and an SWFA 3-9x42. As far as quality of glass, there is no comparison. The SWFA is hands down. As far as construction quality; again SWFA. I happen to live in the DFW area, so customer support and having the SWFA store across town is a big plus.

On the other hand; the Primary Arms is a very nice scope for the price. Mine has been submerged twice, been on a couple of sub-freezing hunts, and has had well over 1000 rounds without issue.

What about the Mark AR by Leupold? The non-illuminated one can be picked up for $250, and it's a 1.5-4.

Awesome, thanks for the info! I'm definitely leaning towards the SWFA at the moment and hoping for a sale next weekend, but will probably grab it either way. I'd never bad-mouth PA though, they put out solid products for the price. I have their advanced micro dot on my AR-15 and love it. An Aimpoint may be in the cards some day, but PA made it pretty hard to justify by putting out such a good RDS at <$200.

Is this a really good deal? Should I buy this scope for my AR?

What are you planning to do with it most of the time? It's a simple cross-hair recital. No BDC, Mil-Dot, etc... My guess made in the Philippines, there are other scopes to consider, Nikon, Primary Arms, both come to mind for about the same price point.

Also 4th of July is coming up, watch for big sales to start to show up in the next few days. Vortex makes a nice scope, not a NightForce or Leupold but then again not the same price.
